  1. Went ahead and booked. Reserved for Adventure on December 14th. Is it normal for Royal to only give a spot to input the first name? Right now it shows the 2nd person as "Tba Tba" and don't see a way to change it
  2. Okay, so I still have not received my FCC. Decided to reach out to Royal Caribbean via DM on Twitter. I told them I cancelled over the phone, however received the 125% cancellation email and was curious what I was entitled to. Keep in mind they have been telling people on their social media now that anybody who cancels is not entitled. According to the message back, my cancellation had not gone through before they announced the 125% credit, thus I am eligible for the 125% credit. Exact wording: "Your reservation canceled after we announced the global operation suspension so you are entitled to a 125% Future Cruise Certificate or a lower-value refund".
  3. I think I worded it wrong. If I get a 100% FCC, it will be right at a $400 FCC. The cruise I am looking at booking is $615 after port fees and taxes. Subtotal being $466: This means the $400 FCC will go to the subtotal (aka room cost), bringing that to $66. The remaining $148.92 is taxes and port fees. This would mean my deposit goes to covering the remainder of the room cost ($66) and a portion of the taxes and fees, leaving me a balance due of $14.92 after the FCC and deposit. Am I thinking about this right?
  4. Just to make sure I understand right: If I do a deposit now of $200, once I receive FCC I call Royal and they will apply it to the booking. FCC can only cover the room cost which sends the deposit over to the taxes/fees/prepaid gratuities if I do them. If there is excess deposit left over, that will get refunded to my card? Does this apply even if it is a non-refundable deposit room since I am not cancelling the cruise, just essentially paid too much?
  5. Mine showed until this morning and I called to cancel on Wednesday..Give it some more time and see. I wouldn’t worry about it.
  6. Have a question for you who have booked with a FCC before. I cancelled my cruise for March 16th and I am looking at rebooking for December onboard Adventure. Let's say the current price of the cruise is $614.92 for 2 people (interior room) with a $200 non-refundable deposit. It is showing after all discounts that the subtotal for cruise far is $466, taxes and fees being $148.92. If I book today and pay the $200 deposit, can this deposit go towards the taxes/fees or does it have to go towards the subtotal (aka room cost)? I should be receiving a $397 FCC, and I read somewhere that FCC can only be applied to the base room cost. I just don't want to pay the $200 deposit and then have to upgrade rooms with my FCC to use it all and still end up paying the taxes out of pocket, as this is a "vacation on a budget", rather than the $200 deposit covering the taxes/fees etc. Hope this question makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. This is my first RC cruise let alone first cruise in years.
  7. I did think about that and it is likely what I will end up doing. It is the same cruise as I was planned for in March pushed off until December, however it is showing non-refundable deposit. My concern with booking now is if I happen to get the 125% cruise credit, the cruise will cost less than my FCC if I pay the deposit out of pocket now. I wonder if I book now and that does happen, could I call RC and upgrade from an Interior room to a Oceanview or balcony room with the FCC that is left over? Anybody know? Also, when I apply the FCC, can the FCC cover the port fees etc? Or only the bare price of the room?
  8. I read somewhere that the sailing had to be completed by 12/31/2021, however I'm not sure if this was for the Cruise with Confidence plan or the 125% FCC offered by Royal if they cancelled the cruise themselves.
  9. My guess is they are assuming COVID19 will no longer be a concern on April 13th, which will raise cruise prices by at least 25% as people won't be worried anymore and will start booking cruises again. If that happens, it will be a wash and they really won't be missing out on anything by offering the extra percentage. I have the cruise I want to rebook with planned out, at this point just waiting for the FCC. I will calculate the percentage increase on April 13th from now just to see if that is what happens.
  10. Supposedly. I canceled Wednesday and have not received anything yet. I received the email on Friday stating the 125% FCC. However, I "cancelled" on Wednesday but did not receive notice about my cruise planner purchases being refunded until yesterday - if it was instant like RC told me on the phone, it should have came through the day I cancelled or the next day. This leads me to believe that my cruise was never in fact canceled on Wednesday whenever I called - so maybe I will get lucky and end up with the 125% credit. Time will tell on that. What frustrates me is they messed up and rather than accept it and pay out for their mistakes, they are just going to say "Sorry! Hope to see you again!". I understand I cancelled early, that's fine, but don't promise something and then go back on your word. That is poor customer relations and if they think it will just blow over and not upset their customers they are mistaken.
  11. According to RC it will take a few days as the cancellation has to be finalized by another department than who you speak to on the phone. As of today, FCC refunds within 10 business days and drink packages etc within 7 business days. Rather worrying as the cruise departs on Monday but we will see.
  12. Can’t call back as my cruise leaves Monday. I spoke with them yesterday to which they did not cancel my cruise like requested as I have gotten no confirmation of any kind whereas others are at least seeing a refund for their onboard stuff (like drink packages, excursions etc) whereas I am still receiving emails telling me to reserve drink packages and stuff. Just frustrating. I am on hold again and will give them another chance and see. Edit: Got ahold of them again. Lady confirmed that it is indeed cancelled. I asked about the lack of confirmation emails and she said it takes a few days to go through along with the refunds being delayed (approx 10 days for the FCC and 7 days for the beverage packages). Not quite what I read online. Still concerning since my cruise leaves Monday to have no type of confirmation or information proving the cancellation, but we will see.
  13. They just hung up on me after waiting for multiple hours on hold after answering, confirming my reservation number and then just hung up Royal Caribbean will have to deal with my credit card company. Not dealing with this again. Poor customer service.
  14. How long did it take you to receive FCC after cancelling?
  15. Had a cruise scheduled for March 16th and decided to cancel and reschedule later in the year. Spent a few hours on hold, finally got through and the guy told me he put the cancellation through however I have received no confirmation email of this and my account is still showing that I am ready to set sail on Monday. This was over 12 hours ago. Is there a delay in showing cancellations? I would assume it would be somewhat instant (within 30 minutes or so). Thanks in advance.
