  1. Good morning from sunny (and humid lol) Disney along with a view from our balcony this morning. So beautiful. We ended up not missing the fireworks after all. After our long day yesterday I initially missed the welcome gift from the resort…so nice of Disney. We will enjoy the treats on our way to Miami. Check in with you later. Looking for a Target.
  2. You know I do! Haha This made me laugh because I did the same thing yesterday. Front row Premium WestJet if anyone cares.
  3. All checked in at the Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Because of the flight delay, we arrived just as the fireworks and water show were ending. This is the view from our balcony. No pictures of the newly renovated rooms because we cluttered it up but they are nice. Will check in tomorrow as we head to Miami.
  4. Oh no! My solution to this new protocol will be to “actively eat and drink” at all venues. The star class food coma will be in full force this week. We are all going to have to pace ourselves. Lol
  5. No!! I have not heard anything. And I was messaging Shane earlier today. Nothing in my emails about changes to protocols.
  6. For some reason the pdf isn’t compatible so here are screenshots of the schedules.
  7. Genie news Onboard entertainment schedule has been finalized. We are looking forward to quite a few of the performances. We are most excited about Aqua 80; does anyone know what Aqua Showtime Encore is all about? I know entertainment is subjective but I would love to hear any recommendations. 8. Cheers After a little more than a 2 hour delay we are up and on our way! WestJet Premium observations: Buy on board items that are complimentary for premium guests have been scaled back (Covid) to 3 items; Kit Kat, Pringle’s and Hummus & crackers. We had a choice of roast beef or orecchiette pasta. WestJet hospitality is still awesome. We have a great flight attendant taking care of us. Even with some of the scaled back services, we are feeling grateful to be back in the skies. Love seeing a packed plane full of excited Canadians heading to Florida, some of which are cruising.
  9. Update on Tap Labs I don’t know how widespread TapLabs is throughout Canada but the process went so smooth. I received a pre authorization on my visa 2 days out, appointment reminder 1 day out, confirmation email this morning that technician was on route, a call from technician half hour out and a call from technician upon arrival at hotel. We completed the test in the lobby of the Marriott. From start to finish the process took 15 minutes for 3 of us. Results are sent via a text link to each of our phones. The technician strongly encouraged us to use the hotel business computer to print results as sometimes paper copies are requested. Oddly enough we were never asked for test results by security, Customs or WestJet. Maybe it’s random
  10. Flight delay: 60 minute delay due to flight crew delay. This is why we decided to fly direct to MCO to avoid missing connections in Toronto.
  11. It’s official .. 2nd negative Covid test!! OMG what a relief….we will see everyone onboard!! Yay!
  12. Marriott M Lounge YYC Airport Covid protocols have really scaled back the offerings. You now receive a $40 voucher to the restaurant for breakfast and very limited evening appetizers. Still a relaxing space though so we decided to order off the menu and enjoy the space. Currently -21 with a blowing snow advisory. 🌧🌬
  13. In Other News: Reyd informed me we have 213 pounds of luggage. And no where in that 213 pounds is a pair of swim trunks for Lindsay. #shopattarget
  14. First Negative Test Just got 3 negative rapid antigen tests!!! OMG what a relief especially when we have a 16 year old that is hard to keep in a travel bubble lol Final rapid antigen test tomorrow morning at 7am before we fly out (required for cruise). On our way to the Marriott In terminal airport hotel. Driving in a snow storm.
  15. Genie news Christmas trees in suite: no Christmas trees are in star class suites on Oasis this year. But there will be in room decorations. Thank goodness for the Festivus Pole. haha Messenger: I am now communicating with Shane via Messenger! Yay
  16. Here is an email to the shipboard concierge team. Maybe they can put you in touch with your genie. We upgraded about 2 months ago and we received our questionnaire within 3 days and genie contact at 28 days. As others have noted, they seem to be fast at contacting star class guests who have upgraded. Hope to see you onboard! [email protected]
  17. this! There is no end in sight to this control; you could put off your upcoming cruise only to be faced with more restrictions. Canada’s healthcare system has failed to build capacity to deal with Covid related hospitalizations throughout all 4 of the waves; giving government the justification for continued lockdowns and restrictions. Sadly, I don’t see anything changing going forward.
  18. I agree, the inconsistency is very frustrating. Arrival testing and quarantine will come down to the CBSA agent we get.
  19. If we don’t cease this opportunity now we may be faced with more travel restrictions and vaccine mandates. A booster will likely be required in the short term to be considered fully vaccinated. So we will face more tough decisions around booster shots. Like @Lovetocruise2002we are praying for negative test results later this week and a status quo on travel restrictions. God willing we will be in Florida Friday and boarding Oasis Sunday.
  20. Genie News Capacity- they are expecting 4500 guests out of a capacity of 6500 or 69% with many larger family groups due to the holidays. @Lovetocruise2002 @calvink669 PCR Testing for International Guests: will happen between 7-9am on Day 7 and is complimentary. Entertainment/Dining schedule: preliminary listing coming soon once the schedule is released. In room movie listing: (onboard team to provide updated Christmas movie schedule once released) Jungle Cruise Suicide Squad 2021 Old Space Jam the new legacy Paw Patrol Still Water Escape Room Road Runner – Anthony Bordon Rya and the lost dragon Tom & Jerry 2021 The secret life of pets 2 Frozen 2 Wonder woman 1984 Respect The green night Candy land Dating and New York Beings Fallen for Fargo Jesus Music Spirit
  21. Sensually stimulating It was over stimulating for me. I think it was a combination of factors but now that the seating is mentioned that may have played a small part. We had the lead entertainer and others running behind us and it was a bit creepy and very loud. If I recall Lindsay’s review, he said it was 60 minutes too long and 59 minutes we can’t get back. But on a serious note, entertainment is subjective; we all walk away with a different feeling. I say if you are curious about a show, what’s the harm in going.
