  1. ^^^^^^This, AND I pretty much want to enjoy my cruise so sailing with family members? I'm stressed just thinking about it! Good for you, enjoy the experience together. @Charlie DeanPersonally, I would ask everyone to check in on line by (set a date), so you can help if there are any unexpected hiccups that come up. Then once everyone is checked in on line articulate/designate a meet up time & place on the ship, maybe for a pre dinner cocktail, at a designated cabin or at dinner. Let everyone be free to do the terminal check in at their own leisure and then go to their cabin to have a minute. Everyone has different styles and comfort levels and speeds for that matter. Everyone settle in and meet at (set a time) to start your Holiday relaxed & ready to enjoy the experience together. I just know my dads wife is late as a rule, I would be visualizing kicking her off the pier ( oh I digress) before even starting my journey. My advice, keep it loose until everyone is settled in, just my two cents. Have fun!
  2. OMG, we really need to start sailing regularly again.....STAT!!!
  3. I had waited well over 90 days when they said 45. If you are on Twitter, message them. That team seems to be the most consistent as far as feedback. Only once did they say you used a TA we can't respond, almost every other time they were pretty clear with where things were with particulars. I venture to say they were better then calling customer care. If using a TA and wanting to apply to a future sailing this seems to make the process a little quicker, they were quick for one of my cancellations to "find" my owed FCC and apply it to the one I was trying to pay for, but @Sharla handled that for me. Good Luck!
  4. Three of us sailed this cruise, I received my C & A points the following Saturday, my husband and daughter have yet to receive theirs, when I get in touch with @Sharla regarding our decision regarding our final payment for Thanksgiving on the Oasis I will address it at that point. No ryme or reason to it!
  5. I come at this from a different angle, every penny I have I earn from painstakingly hard work and then careful decision making. I never consider having my finances in check/order as a privilege; I carefully choose how I spend what I have, for example I never cruised until in my 50's because I had other commitments at the time. When I see Star Class people I look at them with admiration, knowing one day I will either Royal Up win or book a Star Class when that experience is the most important thing to make me part with my monies. I look at their joy and I am so happy for that family and strive to be in that place someday. For example right now I have contracted an in ground pool Oasis in my backyard and the price tag is north of 100,000. No Star Class for me until that bill is firmly behind me, when I was young I saw what others had achieved and worked like crazy to get there, nowadays it seems this type of thinking has given way to a bit of the opposite. So when you are in Star Class & I am not but I smile & wave at you...I'm not being creepy I just think you are so cool & want that for myself in the future. Signed, @WAAAYTOOOfan club president!
  6. @melmar02 we just got the call, finally out of permitting (in permitting since 8 April) and they were excited to tell us we are on the "dig list" Ready? 23 August! When I took the phone call I thought it was starting in a week or two, but no such luck.. They are quoting us 6/7 solid months to conclusion (March 2022) due to supply chain issues and high demand. Watching your build has made me less anxious about the whole ordeal. ? Thanks so much for continuing to share.
  7. @teddyplease also take into account the customs line when reaching Nassau. That took us 35 minutes to get through. Then the shuttle took about 39 minutes from the airport to the Hilton. As long as you are not on Bahamas Air you should be good, if Bahamas Air then figure a bit more time. We were on them Land2sea and they waited for late people, not even cruise passengers and didn't take off until well after we were supposed to land in Nassau. I personally would do a check in time comfortably 2 hours from landing in Nassua as the airport was super crowded, not difficult to navigate but very slow going. Enjoy your sailing! We used the RC shuttle also. All we heard was they were on island time!
  8. Hugo Arenas was our CD on Adventure of the Seas 6/12
  9. @RCIfan1912Congratulations ??? cheers to you and that bundle of joy! I would CWC cancel June and apply to August. And definitely use a TA. My @Sharla is fantastic in navigating surprises. [email protected] MEI agents have the best reputation. I confess I traveled once without her and I felt naked, lol. They are advocating for you 24/7.
  10. ....and we will continue to change the protocols on you days before & during your sailing, but don't fret it's for your safety & enjoyment. They should just say, we are flying by the seat of our pants, if you would like to join us, have at it. We need you to cash out those FCC's pronto!!!
  11. I physically went down to customer service desk and inquired and they said no, I referenced the above statement & she again said "no such thing" Boy, I wish I had this with me then.
  12. I believe they charge your credit card on file and then send you an email.
  13. Never, I bid ever time. Pending until 1900hrs the evening before sailing giving me hope and then email saying unsuccessful. I will keep on trying though!
  14. My teen was familiar with those few, she said they were telling everyone they were vaccinated. That thought did in fact cross my mind, take off the band tell them you're vaxed if asked....but mathematically it would be impossible and ME getting tossed off the ship was not an option so she was respectful of the protocols. She always carried a mask in her lanyard to place on when deemed appropriate by the protocols, I was proud that she understood the stupidity but wanted mama to be happy....SMART KID I HAVE ?
  15. Not sure, we didn't test it. Seemed most adhered, seemed like the honors system though. We just didn't want to go there...
  16. I agree with this statement, individuals were respecting the mask rules albeit in my humble opinion weird, having been vaccinated I wasn't afraid of the very few teens/kids that were on board. (I heard there were 64 children not sure if that is correct) Also 2 adults with medical exceptions. My 15 year old was given a red wrist band at check in and had to wear a mask in the halls, elevators, theaters to dinner again we agreed to follow the rules out of respect for others sensitivities and the protocols in place for this sailing, it seemed stupid. But I was sailing and enjoying the heck out of it so we did it. We stayed together as a family for all of the shows, they placed covers on the "closed seats" every other row was closed (studio B also) and then every three seats were covered in the row that was open so my daughter and I sat together and my husband down the way a bit. We did encounter a few people who when they saw my daughter with the red band and the mask dramatically covered their face with their shirt or napkin or something and then deep sighs and angry faces, they would not dare stand anywhere near us and gave us a gigantic area to move around in, it was comical & sad we just smiled and continued on. Oh, the main dining, OMG seriously we sat right on top of each other!! Tables on every side and directly behind us, we thought that was in contradiction to the theater venue. So many pinnacles, proudly wearing their pins. They were cute but angry we were getting double points all of us lowly steerage people, one guy wore his pin in the hot tub, left it on his half shirt proudly displayed....
  17. I don't believe it is a fair comparison to the NCL Haven. The Oasis class suite offerings may be more apples to apples. YES, Dudley sent an email on Tuesday, he was very helpful with the dining reservations. That was all we needed. Signing up for the antigen on board was a bit frustrating, he tried but could not help besides giving us a website, this took a total of about 3 hours out of our vacation as they "lost" our results, no sleeping that night, that was the most stress of the entire sailing. It was pretty organized the actual testing though....Hours to register, more hours to locate our results the next day but we just packed that away and continued to enjoy but yikes I am glad I went in with a positive attitude saying just go with the hiccups, we pushed that one down deep...
  18. I believe most nights it was just the one young lady, she went next door to the Blue Moon. I think formal night had about three, but she was it most evenings. No temporary bar of any kind. You had to make reservations for the shows also, There was no priority access to shows, all due to the spacing, you could only sit two, so we split of course with a few seats between you. No biggie, whatever it took to sail!
  19. Next to zero suite perks! Larger cabin and very nice toiletries. The suite lounge is open to suite guests and drinks are served 1700 to 2000 but there is no bar. A nice young lady runs into another bar for the drinks, getting her attention is sometimes tough. The small food offerings were fried and dry, they tried though and Dudley was very friendly. No special seating in theaters due to the spacing, we loved the room and the view that was worth it. A sit down breakfast was offered, we didn't partake we like picky breakfast on our balcony. Enjoy, the storage in these cabins is amazing too! Sorry yes there is a small fridge.
  20. @twangster cabin 8694 I tried to take pics the way you would! Here is the our cabin, deck 8 aft. Very quiet. Great stateroom! Two bathrooms, tiny but one had a tub. Loved the views and the ships super structure didn't bother us, we didn't even see it after a night or two. @Lovetocruise2002 the pics of the shampoos and conditioner I took for you! On an aside, do not recommend Bahamas Air. Air2Sea yes, the airline was a terrible experience. They don't deserve to be part of the Air2sea program, actually I don't think they wanted to be.
  21. Just arrived home from 06/12 sailing; we did a tour and shopping excursion in Freeport but our friends did the beach getaway. In our humble opinion Freeport isn't quite ready for us yet. Our tour was miserable and our entire bus was complaining. When we met with our friends they said they went and asked for a refund as it was quite bad. It was very sad, the Island needs a lot of TLC, it looks to me like if anything might be worth it @Mattsuggestion would be it. They were not ready, the island seemed a bit in distress. Our tour operator kept saying they needed money for proper repairs after a bad storm and then RONA. I felt like we wasted our money, when I spoke to Royal they said it came together so fast they had yet to properly "vet" the excursions.
  22. I feel energized! They helped themselves to the 140.00 for the health visa just to start. They are suffering, they need this industry, they want to welcome us with open arms, I feel the tourism dollars will help turn their lives around. Not paranoid but crazy excited, I think we will feel a warmth like never before.
  23. Congrats so happy for you! At least this program worked and is in fact a "thing" this sailing. Great to know, thanks for the response ? See you Saturday. (I bid the absolute minimum just for giggles) but usually I get an email saying your bid was not accepted.
  24. Has anyone opted for the Royal Up? Have you heard anything? I placed a minimum bid way back when, just wondering if this was really a thing this sailing.
