  1. Oh one last note about this sailing, the old style muster. It was beyond painful. People were pissed, one guy lost his temper. We were all on top if each other, both sailings people were late and they made us wait. In my mind I was like they have our money and they still hate us! Excruciating would not even be a strong enough word.
  2. Great advice, I was going to look at the island map again. We are walkers, trams are a last resort. The one time we were in Labadee on our Star Class sailing our Genie brought us on the golf cart thing, I felt like a proper jerk passing everyone walking. Any and all tips and suggestions welcome!!
  3. Wanderlust~ strong urge to travel! When: 25 June~02 July 2023 Who: Our little crew, Myself, hubby & 17 year old daughter We are D+ & earning our crystal block here, hoping they have them onboard. Where: Western Itinerary from Port Canaveral in a Crown Loft Driving over from Tampa the day before, booked a two bedroom accommodation at the Marriott Residents Inn right next to the Port. Scored a 1030hrs check in slot! I placed a minimum RUB which was a lot for a 2 bedroom aqua suite & didn't tell Cabash/Vintage Magnet because why upset him as the ship is sold out anyway! But if you follow me you know I have a RUB problem LOL!! In the same breath Cabash is on the frugal side just talking about spending $$ makes him break out in a sweat! Work hard, play harder we only go around once that's my motto! Married 32 years now together 34 you think he would see things my way! We are trying to do a family theme of red, white & blue as far as garments go for a nod to Americas birthday on the 4th of July! Everyone is allowed one carry on, one backpack & purse, if it doesn't fit it's not sailing!! @asquared17 & @Ampurp85 this one's for you! Thanks to @OCSC Mike for sharing his experience on the previous sailing (June 4) & giving me the heads up on what to expect. We are doing the CoCo Cay Beach Club day pass, Nachi-Cocom in Cozumel (first time at this resort) chosen due to all of the positive feedback here on this site & the Easy sloth encounter in Roatan I just lazily booked through Royal & I will avoid the monkeys @Lovetocruise2002 warned me about. My daughter and I are doing the All Access Tour and Cabash will be posing his Vintage Magnet self at the Solarium maybe or suite sun deck. He was not interested in the tour, translation was not paying it for himself. Okay so this is the start, I am hiding ducks but the small ones this time because I only allow so much luggage. Following are some pics, 7 days to go!
  4. Here is some DCL swag and sailing 2 four day duck game, they went hard. So much fun. DCL gave the very big garish Mouse Head lanyards, I used my old ones. We didn't like them, key cards were pretty. We did represent by (me) wearing a Royal cap. Crazy how many people asked if we liked Royal, etc. Cabash actually spoke, he was like the Royal advertising executive. He would not stop about his love for Royal!
  5. Wow, another live blog request. You guys make me feel so special Thank you! Yes it was Dole Whip! I was thinking about you when we dined in Marvel. It was a great show & probably the best menu on board. I saw Spider Man up close & personal. He really looks amazing in his spider tights!! LOL!! Our servers had him come to our table, what a hoot!!
  6. So funny, I was thinking "I'm not that interesting" so I don't want to blog this trip. Even Vintage Magnet/Cabash is like you're not going to blog?
  7. DCL Wish sailing complete, heading over to Wonder of the Seas a week from Sunday in a CLS. Random thoughts, Turn around day for the B2B was so smooth, we were the first back on the waterslide & the infinity adult pool. Cabin transition fantastic, cabin ready by 1200hrs and all our belongings located within new cabin. We skipped the embarkation lunch because honestly the late breakfast we enjoyed was plenty, best avocado toast anywhere. Ducks....I brought them with me, the 3 day I think I was the only ducker on board lol! The 4 day, just wow! There were ducks & I mean fancy ducks, what fun that was. I was floss dancing every time I found one Random observation, on the 3 night sailing the families, most crew & just entire experience was joyful and happy for the most part. The 4 night had a whole different vibe, it was crazy, few smiles, lots of arguing and puss faces...crew that did smile looked haggard so weird! DCL as well had cut backs that I saw. Royal isn't the only one. Dinner portions were smaller and the filet night 1 was not a good cut, #CK is much better. I like Mickey bars after dinner, they used to come out fancy with sprinkles and on a fancy serving dish, now you get a bar in a white bowl. The cabin amenities are cut back as well, no more q tips, shower caps or individual loofah sponges in the cabin. The water is Dasani, period. They were kind enough (my room steward) to get me some Evian in large glass bottles I was able to transfer to cups to drink. There was a Pineapple Smoothie machine on the concierge deck, yay!! That was a huge hit, I laughed as I saw many a dad creating rum floaters on top of that smoothie. Marceline Market their buffet is down sized and the offerings were less as well as few with many "cheaper" option repeats. The Wind Jammer crushes this venue. Again the MDR foods were outstanding the fast food options (Burgers, pizza, barbecue) quality was average. Same at Castaway Cay, lessened the offerings and it seemed just okay. We enjoyed ourselves very much, I still have Disney music in my head. The disembarkation was so fast, so organized....just amazing. So happy we experienced this new ship, but the entire family agrees we are ecstatic we found Royal when we did. Any questions please ask me!
  8. @NancyP Oh no, I never experienced this cabin....Royal canceled it on us one of our last cancelations. It probably isn't that bad as even on the Serenade the only people who seem to venture up to that deck are ones who are staying on that deck. I would anticipate some but very little loud guests bolting off the elevator, just stuff an extra towel at the bottom of the cabin door! Let us know how it works out, happy and smooth sailing!!
  9. It's me, staring at the Independence of the Seas from the Disney Wish concierge lounge on B2B turn around day. 2 decks and gorgeous! My super tiny concierge cabin was very well appointed. (maybe 300 sq ft)The swag was amazing because it's a 25th anniversary and still Inaugural year. Take aways, Royal suites are just larger and I prefer the bath products on Royal. The crew is mostly kind, a bit more aloof especially in the concierge lounge, Royal is a stand out there also but again MOST of the crew are amazing but the ones that aren't on DCL are very apparent and do not seem to care much regarding the guests. The bad or passive aggressive attitudes are on board. DCL food in my opinion has the edge over Royal. Sorry but the menus and food choices are inventive and very tasty. The shows with dinner, um a bit manic BUT I don't have little ones anymore. Our wait staff is amazing, we really lucked out here! The shows technical situation is super elevated, the theater allows concierge to enter before general admission and choose your seats before anyone else, I love this! Disney ques are famous and everywhere even while waiting for the parking deck to open but in the same sentence everything runs very orderly and efficiently. We are enjoying our time on the Disney Wish but family concensus we can't wait to board the Wonder in a few weeks. Royal for the win! What I paid for this 7 night in a concierge family stateroom is more then my 7 night western in a CLS on the Wonder.....Dear Royal, I'm on my way!
  10. @VicB most are reporting and I as well received the invitation at the 60 day mark.
  11. @Pooch Harr travel has a tour of the suite. Sorry I have no idea how to link it here, I put in Harr travel Adventure of the seas 2 bedroom grand suite, it's on you tube.
  12. The two Pullman beds are located in bedroom #2. They come down from opposite sides above the bed. Sorry I didn't think to take a photo of them in the ceiling.
  13. Here are some of our Adventure cabin photos!
  14. @Pooch we sailed Adventure out of Nassau on the first sailing after the shut down. We are going back on her in June 2024 to experience what we surely missed. The itinerary is a major factor for us as well. While I love the Oasis class I really enjoyed this ship. The entertainment was so so but our cabin (2 bedroom suite deck 8 made for an amazing sailing.) I think you will have a blast. Highly recommend the 2 bedroom, the balcony is amazing.
  15. Hahaha, nor I, but sometimes something interesting is offered so I'll try it on the ship because well...why not? It seems like they have tinkered with or streamlined the CK menu as well. Darn it, now I'm hungry! Thanks again
  16. @OCSC Mike question regarding menu at CK please? If you remember to ask I would appreciate it. My CK menu is available in the app but gone are the vegetarian dishes. Do they still offer these dishes? Have your nieces found any ducks? Have a great evening!!!
  17. Following.... Thanks so much for doing this! Was CK crowded night 1? Were you able to get reservations of your choice? Good to hear about embarkation, we have a 1030 time, first time ever I was able to get so early. Did they board Star, Pinnacles & then the rest of the suites? Enjoy PDCC!!!
  18. I've never had one but there was one next to us once. It looks like a bath tub and seemed empty most of the time. The people in the cabin filled it and then drained it at their discretion. It truly looks like a bathtub on the balcony.... @Lovetocruise2002 I know you just had one in the Villa, is this correct? Do you have a picture?
  19. I confess $4,000 for my tiny concierge cabin for 3 on deck 12. Tiny, tiny but I booked way back, actually I believe I had just started sailing Royal, not sure. I wanted to sail the new ship years ago, booked non refundable. I'm using some Disney funny money and 350.00 OBC. Ummm, I could have landed a beautiful cabin on Royal for 7 nights....the more you know! All this being said I'm going to relax and enjoy all it has to offer but I'm pretty sure I will be comparing it to Royal every step of the way! I'm sailing again so I'm excited still.
  20. This time tomorrow you will be enjoying a most WONDERful vacation! Have the best time. Happy Cruising!!!! **Don't forget Coastal Kitchen has a most relaxing embarkation lunch:)
  21. I just mentioned this on another strand, our June 7, 2024 sailing on the Adventure released the Beach Club Cabanas but no Beach Club Day passes. We are sharing the Island with Icon of the Seas that day so I'm thinking the passes when released are going to be sky high. The OWC is 3,999 and the BC is 3,699 & they are selling. Way to steep for our little party of three. If the Icon is there before us we are just going to stay on the ship in the Solarium, if we are lucky enough to be there first we will get off and plant ourselves somewhere on South Beach.....unless they are waiting because the new adult area will be open by then? I feel like the Icon is going to command crazy high prices.
  22. @Ampurp85 is correct Yes, this "tub" seems to be on the balcony of only certain suites. What class of ship are you looking at? On our Adventure of the seas I believe that's a Voyager class maybe there is only one, the Royal suite. On Oasis and Quantum class there are a few different suites with them. I think they call it a hot tub but it sure looks like a bath tub!!
  23. @MarvinS We were sailing with our cruise buddies but they ultimately canceled. Kids were friends now not so much, so......(teenagers) I was pretty unsuccessful booking entertainment, almost all very late shows only available I'm hoping to rectify once onboard. One reservation (the aquashow) would only allow me to book myself and hubby, kiddo no, no matter how I tried. I too was lucky enough to secure the Beach Club day pass at Coco Cay @ Black Fridays sale price and can't fathom paying the prices now, not for 3 of us. Wishing for you safe and drama free travel down here to Florida, sounds like an amazing vacation you have planned. I'll be hiding ducks so keep a look out. We love the Oasis class ships, first time on the Wonder.
  24. I'm thinking the same, beach club pass prices are going to be insane. The Icon being there makes it more desirable due to the crowds. We booked our cabin day 1, amazing price so I'm thinking unless we are there first Icon will take over the island. We might just stay on the ship in the Solarium for the most relaxing as well as cost effective day. Have a fantastic sailing!
