  1. We always do specialty lunch at Chops although I was they offered many other places too, but we do specialty lunch on embarkation Day so we have to board early. Reservations are for noon and I really don't like to eat lunch any later than that, more like 11 at home.
  2. Ah ok now it makes sense. We showed up an hour early for our last cruise our of Cape Liberty and no one checked.
  3. I'm confused, why is it a waste to get up at midnight for the earliest boarding times? Why is there no reason if you are leaving from a FL port?
  4. I have a caveat to the boarding at your scheduled time. If you didn't wake up at midnight of check date you won't get the early boarding times. I mean we know to do that but some don't. I will have my alarm set for midnight this Friday/Saturday morning to get the earliest boarding time for our May cruise. You shouldn't have to wake up at midnight or even know that to get the earliest boarding times.
  5. Very interesting, and yeah it wouldn't bother me either. I wish they would shake things up and go to Bermuda and then Coco Cay or something like that.
  6. Is this not really, really far out for birthing conflict? Seems kinda strange no?
  7. This is not a big deal to me at all because I there isn't a ton to do in Port Canaveral and really nothing in walking distance. We just booked Oasis next May 22 2026 to Coco Cay and due to a birthing issue we have extra day at sea and no Port Canaveral. Again no issue to me at all. I love sea days. Extra Oasis sea days yes please! I wish we could skip Nassau and do 2 days at Coco Cay.
  8. That is my favorite...we are talking about ships right?
  9. You guys are insinuating things I never said. She did not make a bad purchase and i never said that. She just realized what i already knew, it was terrible value and complete BS. That is what happened. It was not a "bad purchase". Total cringe too. My hatred for the art auctions will not change. It makes me sick.
  10. Do not tell me how to feel, that is where I draw the line. I'll take insults from people who think this garbage is just fine but the art auctions make me sick to my stomach. It's to the extreme shady and low brow, period. The people who run it are cringe to the max. That also makes me sick.
  11. I'm sorry but over prices beer is not the same thing. That happens at every sporting event on the planet. Over priced unauthentic food happens everywhere also. The art auctions in my opinion are the top terrible. Selling beer at outrageous prices is one thing, Park West is criminal but that's just my opinion. I'm just glad we have stopped supporting this garbage and honestly when I see it on the ship it makes me sick to my stomach.
  12. I personally do blame Royal Caribbean. This is so beneath them or at least it should be. Just cause the other lines do this doesn't mean Royal Caribbean has to. Like my parents used to say if your friends jumped off a bridge doesn't me you have to. Royal be different, be better.
  13. https://www.thetravel.com/bait-and-switch-art-auction-royal-caribbean-cruise-scam/ Please don't participate in these art auctions. My wife fell under the spell for 2 cruises and she finally wised up. I think it's beyond scam and quite frankly extremely low brow for Royal Caribbean to still offer this garbage. I attended one with her and immediately felt like taking a shower afterwards. Even the name Park West sickens me. The people who run it are cringe to the max. Sorry but this is particularly a sore spot for me. After the second cruise of attending these she said never again. Thank goodness!
  14. We booked the Taste of the Caribbean for our Sept cruise without the kids. We paid way less than 55 buck a person though. We are not big drinkers but sounds like fun. We are gonna be stumbling out of that one.
  15. Exactly what I was thinking, leave early slots to people who want it.
  16. Our first was Explorer and it was our Honeymoon 9 days Canada/NE. It was our first "mega ship" when Explorer would have been considered a mega ship. Now its considered small. I remember thinking you can fit 3 Titanic's in this ship and now you can fit 3 Explorers in Icon!
  17. Oh that's the part I forgot to ask. Do I have to choose a time? If I do should I just choose the latest port arrival time?
  18. Ok so our check in for our first B2B is coming up next week and then 4 days later the second leg check in. Maybe a dumb question but do you even have to check in for the second leg of a B2B? I mean you get off and right back on right? Do you do a full check in when you are escorted off the ship? I really hope we are back on very quickly. This B2B is out of Cape liberty. Thanks
  19. I think he will like it and you will get a phone if there are any issues. We have never gotten a call from the program counselors for behavior, just from him when he wanted to leave. Sometimes its because he was having issues, sometimes its because he wasn't into the activity and sometimes just cause he wanted to go. I just learned this on our last cruise that you can leave kids in the program in port so you can enjoy the port on your own. I didn't even know that was a thing through 10 cruises. We actually did this in Sydney Canada last year. I was kinda weary of the idea but it was just fine. He was great with the idea. We have a 3 year old too that was just diagnosed the same but he goes with us everywhere. Would not leave him on the ship. In September we have a 5 day Bermuda cruise by ourselves and the kids are staying with the in laws on their suggestion. THANK YOU IN LAWS! Kids will be in school anyway. In late May we have our first back to back with the kids, Halifax and then Bermuda.
  20. Um he is 11 and he is high functioning also. He has his moments but nothing too bad. He calls if he has had enough. He sometimes has issues with being teased. The programs are excellent though. They are entertained very well and there are rules to follow.
  21. My wife goes and does it on her own.
  22. That's exactly how I do it. I just checked the other day and there were 7 junior suites left because that's what we are going to get with a suite GTY and now yesterday there were 9 I think. That's strange but I guess it fluctuates. There is one sunset Junior suite but obviously we won't get that. It'd be cool but no chance.
  23. Once you are given a cabin assignment do they ever change it or that doesn't happen and it's locked in?
  24. Is that a real thing? Your travel agent can take care of that? We had a guarantee on Oasis I believe and we loved the room they have us. Loved the location and everything. It was a pleasant surprise.
