  1. I'm rethinking things here. I really wanted a Icon class ship here in NJ and from what I just read it can fit under the Verazanno bridge but at these prices I do not want one up here. We couldn't nor would want to afford these ships. No thanks. Too much . Awesome ships, god bless those that can afford it.
  2. We always just keep on final payment and do it 2-5 days before. Never had an issue. Definitely don't wait till the last day that's for sure.
  3. Very sad, I feel terrible for you. Our beagle buddy passed 2 plus years ago. Devastating. We finally got a new beagle last spring Cooper. It's brutal losing a pet. Again I'm very sorry.
  4. No way you will hate it, absolutely no way. Don't let these people ruin your cruise. This class of ship is great.
  5. This is so tough, its such a hard decision. We don't even have pet ins and we really should. Is there any talk of a vaccine already?
  6. Yes, we sail in late February and we absolute LOVE the doggy daycare place that takes care of our pup. They freaking love him too but we are getting nervous about this strange illness. Sounds like Covid for dogs.
  7. We LOVE the Quantum class. My favorite ship is Anthem. Sailing a 3rd time on her in late February/early March. Sad to see her leave us.
  8. Boy I've only had Jaime's on Anthem and we loved it. I'm surprised by the bad reviews here. If I remember correctly we liked it so much we went twice.
  9. I don't understand why with being Diamond when you check out for a full plan for a cruise they can't just pro rate it and only pay for 6 days rather than the full 7 days. I just don't get it other than of course they don't want you to use the perk. They certainly don't want to make it easy or for it to make sense. If you wait to purchase on the ship you are gonna pay more in the end. It's a way to have a perk but not really have it.
  10. But they didn't say that. You are speculating. Until we know why and quite frankly it should have been in the cold letter they gave them why. I guess we may never know why unless one of the YouTube cruise channels actually does some digging.
  11. I have never heard of this being a possibility. It does not mention that you can be bumped. That's a bunch of BS. This isn't a airline where there are a bunch that you can just switch to. This is a cruise vacation, you can't just say ok I'll just take Carnival. And if this is a possibility then they need to stop calling it a guarantee.
  12. If you don't think things have steadily gotten worse since this new CEO has taken over is laughable.
  13. Yeah I'm not saying it was a calculated business move but I wouldn't exactly be surprised either. I don't like this new CEO in the least. Richard Fain cared about Royal Caribbean and pushing boundaries. He loved building new innovative ships. This guy only cares about raising prices in any way that he can.
  14. Let's not make the airlines customer service the bar here. If we do we have really sunk.
  15. Yeah just like it could just be for this sailing Diamond isn't allowed in the diamond club at certain times of the day. Now it's the norm. Call it a conspiracy all you want but Royal does some funky things. If it is just an emergency of some kind they need to come out and explain it very clearly. This is bad business, period.
  16. I was thinking about that, I read you can request a substitution if you do it in advance. Cruise in in the late February. My wife now saw and wants to do chef's table which actually looks like fun and interesting. That also has filet mignon which again I'd have swap out. I just don't like red meat for the most part. I'm not saying I don't eat it but it's kinda rare for me.
  17. Well I wouldn't put it past Royal Caribbean especially this new CEO to do something like this to scare off guarantee cabins. We have to face the fact this is not the old Royal Caribbean with Richard Fain. This CEO Jason Liberty's Royal Caribbean.
  18. So now we are blaming the person who booked and paid for the cruise. Now that's a new one and actually a bit stunning. As an experienced cruiser I would be frantically trying to find out why I wasn't assigned a cabin number but everything I read is they can issue that cabin number the day of sailing. What the heck is the person supposed to do? Royal Caribbean needs to take the L on this one and we need to accept that. If it was some kind of flooding issue then Royal Caribbean needs to explicitly say what exactly happened. This is unacceptable.
  19. When I book a cruise, booked and paid for, whether it's a suite, inside, balcony or GTY balcony I don't want to hear it's rare to be bumped. I want to hear it can't and will not ever happen that you get "bumped". Most only get one change a year to have vacation. This is completely Royal Caribbean fault for even introducing this doubt. This is just my opinion.
  20. Personally after this BS, it was 12 people, I will never book a guarantee again and we had a great experience booking our first on Liberty a few months ago. Royal Caribbean created this doubt, its there fault. I want the full story but this really, really bothers me.
  21. Thanks, yeah I finally duh saw the menu and I'm not a filet mignon or steak guy like at all so this is definitely not for me. Everything looks interesting though. Thanks for the info.
  22. I never noticed this before but there is a "taste of Royal" lunch. What exactly is that because I honestly have no idea? Where is it served and what exactly is the menu?
  23. It's in the cruise planner under VIP for odd reason not The Key which is very odd.
  24. Oh yeah I'm not questioning you or anything, just more curious. That's a shame. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I understand food might be a large percentage of the expense for cruise lines but they shouldn't cut major corners with it. It's what leaves a lasting impression on people on a cruise. It's really shortsighted to do so. Now on Liberty in October we thought the food was excellent actually. We didn't have any complaints other than some things worked and others didn't but that was more preference and not everything is gonna be amazing.
  25. Holy cow, what was so bad about the thanksgiving dinner? That's just nuts. Was that consensus of most people or at least everyone in you party?
