  1. I sure hope that you are right. I told the last rep that I was going to try every Monday until the ship boarded and each time that I fail to check in that I was going to call Royal and complain. Each rep after spending an hour plus on the phone with them all tell me the same thing that I need to wait but none can tell me how long I need to wait.
  2. I sure hope that someone can learn from my experience and only begin checking in if you have the time to fully complete the process. I am afraid that I will not be able to board until 3PM at this point.
  3. Thanks for the suggerstion but as mentioned before I have already tried to log into the site via a computer but it does not work.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion but this did not resolve my issue either. I removed the app from my phone then powered it off. While it was off I logged into the website and attempted to proceed with check-in but unfortunately I received the message "Information is currently not available. Please try again later."
  5. I have tried to check-in on my desktop along with my work system and both get the same error message.
  6. Thanks for the suggestions but I have already tried all of them. I logged out of the app and website then tried again on just the website but the same issue took. I had my wife try and do the check-in under her account but she received the same error message as I did. It appears that there is an issue with the booking.
  7. I have a very interesting problem in which I do not believe that Royal can resolve. I am set to sail on Oasis of the Seas Nov. 3 and check-in has been open now for about 3 weeks. Others on this board have been able to successfully already check in and have been able to select the 1:30 boarding time. I on the other hand cannot even begin the check-in process. When check-in opened up I was at work and began the process while I was at work. Within Royal's phone app I clicked the check-in button and then was interrupted by a co-worker before even the check-in screen was loaded. While it was still loading on my phone I closed the app. By doing this I evidently locked myself out of the check-in process for if I try to access it from my phone or from my computer I get a message stating that I cannot preform the action. This happened about 3 weeks ago and I waited a week before trying to check-in again. Since I was unable to check in after waiting a week I began to call Royal and informed them of the situation. After being put on hold several times and spending a little over an hour on the phone with them the rep told me that he was going to email tech support to have them look at my account and that someone would call me back from tech support. A week later and still no one called me I called Royal again. This brings us up to this past Monday 8/23. Spoke to another rep about my situation and they informed me that there were no notes about my issue other than I had called in having a check-in problem. I went through the whole explanation of what took place and after 1.5 hours on the phone I was again told that someone would call me back but this rep said that he opened up a ticket with tech support and the ticket would not be closed by their IT department until the issue was resolved. Last night I tried again to check-in but I was still getting the error message. Called Royal again and the rep informed me that no IT ticket was open and that there were no notes about what transpired other than I called in with a check-in problem. I told the rep that the previous one had assured me that a IT ticket was open on my issue. A side note here I was unable to get the IT ticket number from the previous rep for it was for internal use only. Again after spending an hour on the phone with the latest rep he informed me that I was going to wait until some data was uploaded for me to check-in. I am hopeful that someone on here has ran into this issue and can tell me what I need to tell the Royal rep in order to fix my issue. As I mentioned before I am at the point in which I do not believe that they can fix my issue for the reps are telling me bold face lies about opening tickets with support. I have a sinking feeling that I will just have to show up at the port on boarding day and fill out all my paper port at the port since they are unable to resolve my problem. Any help that anyone can give me to assist in resolving my problem would be GREATLY appreciated.
  8. What is interesting is that I just checked my sailing on Oasis for Nov. 3 and there are no sails being advertised. The same thing is taking place on my Rhapsody sailing Dec.14. I'll have to try again later to see if the sale pops up.
  9. Yes, I am aware of the discount when booking on board but it has been so long I am sure I have forgotten how to book onboard.
  10. That is possible for this is my first 6 night cruise. We have always done 4 and 5 nights in the past. I was under the assumption that all deposits were $200.
  11. With all of the cancellations taking place and no one sailing I have not really been following along very closely to the latest RCL news. My wife and I were talking about how we do not have a cruise booked for late 2022 so I looked today and found a a cruise that we agreed on. I booked a balcony room for 6 nights on Explorer of the Seas out of Miami for October. I came to the part in which it told me the deposit amount and I was shocked to see that it was $500. When did the deposits go up from $200 to $500?
  12. I am right there with you. I have a sailing scheduled for the first part of April and it is starting to look doubtful now.
  13. Well this is not a good sign for when one of the major 3 starts to cancel the other 2 follow shortly after. I found the following notice from my TD Ameritrade application ThinkorSwim. This is why shares cruise shares are down today. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. said it is scrapping all voyages through Feb. 28 on its namesake unit and sailings on its Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises units through March 31, further prolonging its revenue drought during the Covid-19 pandemic. With the extension of the sailing hiatus, Norwegian will have not sailed for about a year, since cruise ships faced coronavirus outbreaks earlier this year. Norwegian and other major cruise operators have lost billions of dollars this year due to the pandemic. Norwegian on Wednesday said it is working to fulfill requirements set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To win the CDC's approval, cruise operators must conduct mock sailings and apply for a conditional permit at least 60 days before restarting passenger operations. Carnival Corp. has also extended its sailing pause across some of its cruise lines to various points of 2021 in the face of CDC requirements and the resurgence of Covid-19 cases. Restarting sailings come at a cost. Norwegian last month earmarked $300 million in health and safety investments ahead of its sailing resumption, and its initial sailings will likely be seven days or less at reduced capacity.
  14. I believe that everyone is beyond ready to start cruising again.
  15. The CVS stores in my area are advertising that you can get your test results back in 2-3 days. I figure if I go and get tested exactly 5 days out I should be able to get the results back before I have to travel to the port. This does not leave me much wiggle room since I am sailing out on November 5 and 5 days prior to that date is a Friday. If the labs are not operating over the weekend then I would most likely not get my results back until the day we are scheduled to leave I will definitely be looking for a rapid test site and following along as to how Royal plans to handle the testing situation.
  16. After reading the article that Matt posted my first thoughts were there is no way that cruising will return this year. Now that the government wants to get involved I am willing to bet that we will start to see the lines announce that all sailing this year are cancelled. Disney has already canceled their sailings until late December so the other major lines will now be shortly behind them in my opinion. -Eric
  17. lol....yup that was a typo. It has been fixed.
  18. I believe that sailings will start back up in November. They will be short 3 - 4 day sailings and the ships will be carrying a limited number of passengers . Pretty much just like MSC is doing it in Italy right now.
  19. From the recent news that is coming out I am starting to believe that cruising on a limited bases might actually start in November. What has started to move my thinking into the positive is the fact that the CDC just came out informing states to start making preparations for a COVID vaccine by early November. If they are publicly making this announcement I am thinking that they are going to let the no sail order expire the end of October.
  20. I just checked in for my Nov 4th cruise and the earliest I can board is 2:30 as well. I believe that 2:30 is the earliest anyone will be able to select since they have to a serious deep cleaning now of the rooms.
  21. I think that the real test will be when schools are back in session. With the President putting a big push on for kids to be physically at schools that will be the real test. If COVID for teachers and parents of the students attending in person classes begin to spike upwards you can easily kiss the 2020 cruise season goodbye. Here in Georgia it appears that most schools are leaning toward a hybrid school year with doing remote the first semester then doing in person classes. I work for a major university and they are planning on having the majority of the classes be in person still. The fall semester starts here in about 4 weeks.
  22. This is the perfect trip in my opinion and if my wife could take that many days off from her business I would love to have do an itinerary like this.
  23. I am in the same boat more or less as you for in the morning most of our drinks come from coffee. We do pick up bottled water on island days but we do not normally drink that much water while on the ship. We mainly drink alcoholic drinks while on the ship with the exception of breakfast and lunch at which time we normally drink ice tea. We try to pick sailings that not port intensive as well so that get time to explore and enjoy the ship because for us the ship is part of the destination as well.
