I have done Northbound and Southbound transits of the Panama Canal.
There is no forward or backwards to the canal.  It has always operated in both directions.

This has been our day cruising up the coast of South Georgia Island.  Destination unknown.

    Bertrab Glacier maybe?

Some of the more interesting icebergs.

Northern part of the Ross Glacier I think.

This went zooming past pretty close.

Our friend the Albatross bringing us good weather.

    Antarctic Prion.

Weather has been variable.  It's sunny then it's not.  Clear then misty.  Where did that Albatross go?

    A colony of Macaroni penguins.

Similar looking to the Rockhopper penguins we saw in the Falklands but different.  These little cuties are a big bigger.

Penguins like to nest in the hills for safety so there was a penguin highway climbing the hillside.

    Too many to count.

Some of the holiday decorations around the ship:

The deck crew were busy making a Christmas tree from one of the lines.

A bit of a Clark Griswold moment with a tree too big for the space - they had to remove a ceiling tile to make it fit 🤣.

    Our guitarist and vocalist Tomás.

    He is pretty good.

Gingerbread houses and one of many Christmas trees on board.

As we sail into South Georgia waters overnight the ship must not have external lights to minimize impact to wildlife.  We have been instructed to keep our balcony lights off and curtains closed.  Around the ship blackout covers have been applied.

The Dolce Vita bar before the shades were lowered.

The hike back was a little easier.

    Felton's flower.

Our guide pointed out the wind blown trees.  The Falkins are known for their winds.  These trees didn't grow this way, they were pushed this way.

Once on land they collect our life jackets and we are directed towards a trail.  We meet a guide who will escort us to the nesting site as a group.  It's pretty much exactly as they explained in the briefing yesterday.

Our first opportunity for some wildlife up close.  First up is an Upland Goose.

    And some chicks.

I'm falling behind, too many photo ops.  Gotta catch up.

This morning while waiting to debark I stopped at the photo studio to inquire if I could post the video from the ship's videographer Justin Duncan.
They indicated it was okay to post the video but suggested I remove any segments that show a guest's face that would be easily recognizable.  I have done that and also removed the sound track which would likely cause a copyright issue on Youtube.
This video contains content that was all captured during this voyage.  There was no stock footage used or content from another ship or sailing.

Thirty minute stop in Punta Arenas to refuel and pick up some cargo.

    It's five o'clock somewhere.

Meal service was decent all things considered.

We've made it to Punta Arenas to refuel so while we wait I'll continue to post.
The short ride to the airport.

They held us on the bus while the aircraft before us taxied out to the runway.  Then it was time to walk up to the tarmac to our awaiting plane.

Row 11 has an excellent view... of the engines.

    Our plane.

I have the row on my side to myself again.

With flaps extended my view was somewhat obstructed.

Shortly after 6am the first group was called.

Busses waiting for the short ride to the airport.

A final farewell from the crew.

It occurs to me the airport can't handle all four aircraft at the same time.  My plane hasn't landed yet.

A final look back at the Silver Wind.

An earlier group prepares to take off.

Early morning here in Puerto Williams but the weather has cleared and it's too beautiful of a morning to let it uncaptured.

I don't think the program is broken, it is doing exactly what it is intended to do, motivate repeat bookings.
When a program is successful isn't a sign that it must change.  It's a sign that is has been designed properly.
If it isn't broken, it doesn't need to be fixed.
