  1. From that same aforementioned cruising group, people reported that their ships were able to dock in both Cozumel and Costa Maya.
  2. Here's a letter from a guest onboard Vision of the Seas shared in one of my cruising FB groups. A different guest aboard Vision reported that the ship attempted to dock at St. Kitts, after being refused at St. Maarten, but were later denied. A different guest aboard Grandeur reported in the same thread where the letter was posted that the ship was denied entry into St. Thomas today ? It's a cruise to nowhere, but at least they're onboard a ship, right?
  3. MSC has now issued restrictions for their guests over 70 years of age and also includes travel ban restrictions disclosed last night:
  4. You are correct, US citizens and permanent residents are exempt from this ban. I will edit my post. ?
  5. I was thinking that as well when I learned about this news, going to be a massive pain in the neck for Americans trying to get home. Hopefully their airline is sympathetic and can/are willing to waive change fees.
  6. According to this article, this travel ban goes into effect Friday and will impact airlines, cruise lines, freighters. The UK is exempt from this ban, people returning to the US can fly to the UK and then fly to the US. Edit: Just to clarify, this ban does not apply to US residents or permanent residents.
  7. A passenger received this letter from the VP of NCL today, it was posted in one of my FB cruising groups. I wonder if Royal is planning to send out something similar soon.
  8. The Mariners also moved their home games out of Seattle for March too. This sucks ?
  9. Just as a heads-up, the Port of Seattle announced earlier this afternoon that they will be closed for the April 1st and 5th sailings impacting the March 29th sailing of Grand Princess and March 30th sailing of Celebrity Eclipse. Here is the full 2020 schedule for reference. The cruise season in Seattle contributes $900 million to the local economy and supports 5,500 jobs, so let's hope that this public health emergency is resolved in time for the Alaska season. (Ovation's first sailing is on May 17th.)
  10. This is the rest of the itinerary: 12 Mar Sir Bani Yas Island, UAE private island 14 Mar Muscat, Oman 16 Mar Arriving in Dubai, Port Rashid, UAE The April 8th and April 26th itineraries were already revised:
  11. No problem! Really surprised that Royal hasn't made an announcement by now, must be nerve wrecking for everyone booked on Jewel this month. Did some more reading, here's an article with additional info.
  12. Be thankful that Royal did not put up one of their ships as collateral like NCL did with Epic: https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/nclh-secures-additional-675m-liquidity-amid-coronavirus-uncertainty
  13. I shared this video with @Matt a few minutes ago on Twitter, but here's a perspective video from YouTube cruise vloggers onboard Jewel. So sorry to hear about your friends' situation, @Jim S, and best wishes on your March 23rd cruise.
  14. It's good to know that what is being advised is legal, I trust you guys 100% ? I have a good relationship with my TA, my family has been working with her for a while now. The cost of my cruise is actually more important than the points, just want to get a fair price. Thanks for your help with this!
  15. As I've never done this before, should I be honest and tell her to book me into a regular stateroom for two and advise that it's only me that's going? Or keep the solo part to myself and ask her to book a stateroom for two? Tell her that "a friend" will be joining at some point, but I'm not sure who at this point. Really appreciate the help with this! (I misspoke earlier - the voucher was for the inconveniences I experienced on my 2018 cruise.)
  16. This is actually really helpful, I've only ever searched for one person before. If I ask my TA, will she be able to book this for me? I have to use this 20% off voucher before the end of July (for the December 2019 cruise I cancelled).
  17. The April 19th itinerary was also changed as well: Day 1 - Barcelona Day 2 - Nice Day 3 - Marseilles (Provence) Day 4 - Cruising Day 5 - Malaga Day 6 - Alicante Day 7 - Cruising Day 8 - Barcelona (I don't have a cruise booked for this year, forwarding information from a friend of mine who elected to cancel.) @Traveler, are you still planning to go on your April 8th cruise?
  18. Hello ladies and gentlemen, I arrived home around 1 am on Monday, December 17th and slept nearly the morning away. (Needless to say, I was extremely grateful that I had booked this day off work LOL.) Still catching up with IRL work and other commitments, but I am planning to finish this review ? Thank you for your patience! Christine
  19. Rushed a bit to finish aforementioned breakfast, but I managed to meet up with Mr. Grey of Thenford Grey Tours for my Grand Island Tour of St. Kitts. Mr. Grey was our guide of our group of 20 and he was very funny, very knowledgeable, with a passion for his home country and meeting visitors. He pointed several historical landmarks en route to our first destination, Romney Manor. Quiet day in port with just Adventure and another ship from a luxury line tendered in the distance.
  20. It is now Day Six, a.k.a I grabbed a quick breakfast at Cafe Promenade before heading off the ship to St. Kitts.
  21. I wrapped up Day Five with a show by ventriloquist Kevin Johnson, Holiday Harmonies on the Promenade with some of the RC singers, and the Dancing under the Stars party on the pool deck.
  22. Dinner again in the MDR was excellent, with a performance of O Sole Mio by the waitstaff during dessert ?
  23. We made the obligatory stop at an extremely crowded Maho Beach before driving quickly through Simpson Bay Marina on our route back to port. Agreed with those who thought it was a little bit of a tourist trap, but it’s worth seeing once. Overall, this was a terrific tour and I will definitely consider Bernard’s Tours for my next visit to St Maarten. At the terminal, I bought, drank $2 bottle of Corona at a duty free ship before returning to the ship. We sailed to our next destination under a wonderful sunset. I will finish off Day Five and hopefully Day Six tomorrow ?
