  1. Majesty does offer chef's table! And I enjoyed the shows on Majesty much more that cat's or chicago. Don't judge too negatively without giving it a shot. I was very impressed at how new and up to date the ship looked inside and out. Service was great and bar staff was great as well. I would prefer bigger newer ships but for the price and closest option I would do it and choose to have fun and enjoy it.

  2. Have you been on Majesty? My wife and I have been on Freedom, Allure, Independance, and Majesty (soon to add Oasis in less than two weeks!). Majesty was actually our favorite and we wished the opposite, that it did longer cruises. I do wish it had regular balcony rooms but other than that we had a great time on it. But love the other ships as well. I just wouldn't knock it too hard if you personally haven't tried it.

  3. I can't imagine how much a propeller costs and weighs for a ship this size. Probably in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range and more tons than I would was to try to install as a diver under the water! I've seen them do it on the crab fishing ships on deadliest catch. They stated that the propeller was over 40k dollars and had to use divers and adjustable flotation for the under water install, and those are 100 ft ships.

  4. If its a propulsion problem I'm assuming ship will need dry dock for repairs. These ships use an electric motor pod directly driving each propeller (so all underwater). Pods can turn 360 degrees to direct propulsion, so no need for a rudder, pretty cool. Diesel generators in engine room provide electric power for drive motors. Now if its a generator problem that should be able to be repaired/replaced in port with some heavy machinery.

  5. I would be super upset. When we went to san juan we couldn'd believe it was a cruise port. There was nothing to do there, sure there's an old fort and some shops. You can visit those anywhere (ft macon in NC is a much neater fort). You can go do the bacardi rum distillery tour or shop. That was all the excursions (at the time, couple years ago). St. thomas and as you mentioned St John have the prettiest beaches in the caribbean. I don't know maybe I need to give San Juan another chance but I just don't see what there was to like about it especially more than St. Thomas. You must make future plans to make your way to St. John again. It was the prettiest, cleanest beach I've ever seen.

  6. Wife and I leave on Oasis sept 3 and the cruise planner has deluxe package for 55 per person per day. It states this is the preorder deal. Is it really more than that on board? I keep reading and hearing about the drink package going on sale but no one mentions a price. What is the price of the actual deal? If there really ever is such a thing lol.

  7. Seems like I have seen it advertise on a sign in vintages but don't recall seeing it in the cruise planner. Have never tried it though. We are doing the wine pairing in the MDR on Oasis. We booked it under events/activities on the cruise planner. I think it was 17 dollars per person. Its at like 2pm I think, so not a meal.

  8. Rent a bicycle and tour the town. Sloppy joe's bar has good bar food and is a cool place. There is one main public beach that has sand and there is a small restaurant right there on the beach called SALUTE! it was really good food and you can sit outside under a covering with your feet in the sand.
