  1. Yes, what you said about the Ice Shows is true, but that's not the fault of the cast. It's probably the way ice shows work though. 1977 was better than Flight in that regard. Careful on the blue side. I nearly blacked out at the end of it. Was a fair splash of water at the exit. Do take care.
  2. The ice shows are great. Very talented cast. Saw most of one of the Aqua shows and it is certainly very impressive. Definitely takes a lot of skill to do what they do. I need to go back to see the other one. Didn't get to see Hairspray or Flight, so need to cruise on Symphony again to see them. The cast are great though (I saw them in a different number). BTW - The blue slide is very fast. Also love the champagne bowl (green/yellow) but the queue is long for that one. The yellow racer is slower though. I didn't do the Abyss.
  3. Anybody not able to access the doc yet? Please let me know. If you are wondering where to get info - some CD's have social media and will state their schedule. Other sources of info can include CC (but don't plagiarise their list) and asking CD's on ships. Probably other sources, but those are the ones off the top of my head. As for the AM's, that will be harder. Some may have social media, but the AM list on CC is no longer active and they aren't usually public figures like CD's. All info will be appreciated though! And as always, feel free to say if you enjoyed a CD (but let's not make it as hostile as my CC list ended up being). Thanks, Joe :)
  4. What are you most looking forward to on Symphony? Definitely do the slides. Go to 80's night as well. Those are my two recommendations.
  5. Does anyone here follow CC and know of any recent (in the past 2 weeks) updates from that thread?
  6. Looking forward to it! Definitely will help with my PCD. Symphony is great - you will love her!
  7. Just shy of 1 week now. It seems to only fade when you take your next cruise. 1 down, 49 to go!
  8. It might depend which countries the staff were from. What may be perceived as funny by one demographic may come across as rude to another. Particularly if they were European when this was an Alaskan cruise with mostly US and Canadian guests. Shame to hear that you didn't enjoy them though. It was only Topi's 3rd sailing in Alaska though, so he might not be used to the demographic yet.
  9. Welcome! Yes - this blog is much friendlier. CC is a bit like a clique. I learned that when I stopped doing the CD list there.
  10. Thanks. I totally agree. I won't begin to explain how I felt when I resigned from that list. Thank goodness Royal Caribbean Blog is a friendly community.
  11. Anybody got updates? I don't read CC anymore (they hate me so I'm staying away) so please edit the sheet with any changes that have occurred on their CD list. As for the AM list there, that is never updated, so it may be harder to get much AM updates. Please update as you cruise as well.
  12. Fish and Ships is making me hungry. Now I really want to sail Indy. Enjoying the blog so far.
  13. It is, but a 12 to 18 months feels like forever.
  14. The scenery is beautiful - just don't go into the suburbs of Glasgow.
  15. Probably thinking of Symphony again for 2019 and then I can finally do Independence as a solo cruiser in 2020. Alaska will need to wait until a Voyager or Freedom Class goes there (not expecting Oasis any time soon).
  16. I don't think it will be much of a problem. Just don't expect a sunbed! It just wasn't their cup of tea.
  17. TBH, you are probably right regarding Scotland! Thanks for the link.
  18. I guess planning my next cruise is the best cure? There is just no Royal offering for July 2019 that works.
  19. For Southampton - it's the demographic. They feel it is full of tacky Brits or 'chavs' as Brits would call them. I don't mind it personally, but they seemed to hate it and to my dismay, never shut their mouths about it when given the opportunity. I plan to cruise solo in 2020 and will hopefully get back to my first love Indy then, but we have a special celebration in 2019 so I'm stuck with them again for next year. I did B2B on Harmony and Symphony, but those were 14 nights in total. I don't want to do 3 turnaround days to get 2 weeks (which is what I say is needed to justify flying to Florida from Scotland). 1 was enough on HM & SY.
  20. Coming from the UK, 3/4 nighters won't work. I would be happy to do Independence from Southampton, but try and convince my group. I'm also unhappy that they pulled Nav from the UK when they decide to refurb her, and replace her with Explorer, who will also be in need of a refurb. Nav and Mariner have been on the 'to-sail' list for a while, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
  21. That's probably what makes it worse for me this year. I've had an idea of what I've wanted to do for the past few years (and did end up doing them), not a clue for next year. If only Navigator, Independence and Mariner did better itineraries...
