Well said.  You don't have to go crazy with planning.  But I do think a little research goes a long way to save you time and money.  The more research you can put in, potentially more savings for you.  This goes with anything really, being an informed consumer is always to your advantage.

You can adjust your price up until final payment.  To do so, call RC or your travel agent and have them re-price it for you.

 

If it's after final payment, you cannot adjust the price UNLESS the price of the next category up from you drops below what you paid, in which case your price will match that rate.  Once again, you will need to contact RC or your TA to make the adjustment.

Great deal!  Interesting to see them promoting cruises so far in the future this much but it's a good deal if you can plan ahead.

I enjoy the pre-cruise planning because to me it's fun.  When it comes to vacations, I'm definitely type-A and like to research my options but again, I enjoy all of it.

Matt I know you live in the New York area so this might be hard for you but last August I saw the prices for Oasis and Allure dramatically drop for September so I quickly booked a cruise on Allure. The rates were really good. I got a balcony room for 699 per person plus taxes and fees but I am also a diamond member so I got to use my balcony discount for $200.00 off. My point is in Late July/early August you should see if the pricing for Allure in September will be cheap again because I have a feeling you can get a really great deal again around that time and flights might not be too bad if you book 30-40 days in advance.  

September and October are always inexpensive times to cruise because it's hurricane season.  $699 per person on Oasis class is a steal!  Hope I can manage to take advantage of a deal like that this year

I think you will love it.  Given Anthem will be a brand new ship, you will really get the very best Royal Caribbean can offer.

My next Cruise is on Quantum March 13 2015.. I know I missed the blog cruise by only 8 days :(

You can still change it to to be on the blog cruise!

Hopefully a last second deal sometime this summer.

Just booked my flight with Choice Air, Will arrive at Newark early morning of the 20th.  :D

Great! Getting close now

Liberty is going to be doing a lot of moving around in the next few years.  I think it will be great in Galveston!

I haven't cruised on July 4th but I imagine there's some small things going on.  They did little things here and there for Valentine's Day so I'm sure they will celebrate July 4th.

 

There won't be fireworks because shooting fireworks from a cruise ship isn't something RC can do at this time.

How will the cruise be for our little one? All reading I've done says it'll be fun.

What excursions are generally more family appropriate ?

I have a 3 year old daughter and we've been cruising with her when she was 1 and she loved it.  Onboard the kids pool and character meets will be great fun for her.  On shore, look for beaches that have small to no waves.  There are good options usually in every port.  

 

Labadee has a water park that is great for kids too.

Walking the main street in Nassau is worth an hour or so of time just to get off the ship for a little.  If the weather cooperates, it's a good place to enjoy.
