The weather in the Bahamas that time of year will be still quite nice. Probably warm enough to swim. The first day or two and last day or two may be chillier. Also it's still Hurricane season so there's still potential for a storm but you never know.

Yes it will. Same for Labadee

Yup, it's itemized!

We've done Paradise Beach a few years ago and enjoyed it http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2010/07/21/excursion-focus-paradise-beach-cozumel
My wife and I like walking around the downtown area and shopping and eating too.
Other reviews of things to do in Cozumel:

And I thought we were the only ones . Looks like the loyalty program is working!
When you get to Platinum, you get a taste of the benefits but the real benefits begin at Diamond, which isnt that far away from Platinum

As Marc noted, two bottles per stateroom.
Carry it in your carry on and in all the times we've done it, no one has said a word to us about them during the embarkation process.

I have not but it appears that you are in a Grand Suite and there's a video of another grand suite on Brilliance that I would imagine is quite similar

I dont think Grandeur is a bad ship by any means. If I were brand new to cruising I think perhaps the other, larger classes of ships in Royal Caribbean's fleet might be a better choice but Grandeur since her refurbishment is in a better state.
I think generally people are happy with the ship and while I have not sailed on her myself, I wouldn't hesitate to try it out, especially given the price and not needing to fly to get there.

As far as phone calls go, has anyone used one of those $10 international calling cards they sell at grocery stores? I'm sure Cozumel would be no issue with Mexico being on just about every card I've ever seen for sure. How about George Town and Falmouth? I have never seen a calling card with those countries listed or any advice on ease of finding a phone there either.I know the calling card route would be the cheapest route than a cell or ship phone but am unsure on the specifics.
To use calling cards, you have to use a land line phone. Your cell phone wont work since it needs a cell signal to use in the first place

Looks like we have a new float out date and time for Quantum!!!

The new time is much better for us Americans :P

Do any of the cruise lines offer their own? Would be a good idea if not. Would help to have compass accessible on the go.
Royal Caribbean does but their app in its current form is not great.
For the compass, take a photo of the compass before you leave your stateroom and that way you can refer to it anytime you want.

Thanks! We are driving to Baltimore from PA and parking in security for the trip. I guess the number will work for us, since we do not have to worry about a plane. ;) :)
You are correct. When you're driving and not under the gun to be somewhere by a certain time, disembarkation is far less stressful.
-
The Sea sickness app is a neat idea. I wonder how well it actually works
-
I always show up around 11am for the lunch as well.
-
Which ship? Most ships other than Oasis/Allure do not allow reservations for shows/entertainment online.
-
This is our first cruise. What do you mean by our number being called?
Thanks again!!!
This might be a good blog post...
In a nutshell, every passenger gets a number assigned for disembarkation. RC calls numbers over the loud speakers and once they call your number you can get off the ship. You can take your time even after they call your number but your luggage wont be ready until they call it.

Hey y'all. I'm Michael, my wife is Kathy. We sail Aug 31 on NOTS out of Galveston. Can't wait !!
Welcome Michael and Kathy!

You have a set dinner time for the MDR. Do they serve breakfast and lunch in the MDR and if so do you just wait for a table? The Buffet serves all three meals? Is the Buffet open all the time? if you would get hungry and want something light mid afternoon, something would be available?
On Sea days, breakfast and lunch available in MDR. During port days, only breakfast in MDR. All meals always available in Windjammer (buffet).
Buffet has set hours but there's only a handful of hours in the day they are not open, usually between meals.
There's always somewhere on the ship to get food anytime, including room service (which is free).
-
Lunch & dinner also has some flavored waters in Windjammer
-
Return home. Are we responsible for getting our luggage off the ship once we return home or can we schedule a time with a porter to do so? If the porter takes if off do we pick it up the same place we dropped it off? It appears our ship returns to Baltimore early in the am, will we be able to eat breakfast and take our time leaving the ship? Do they have a certain time you have to be off, like a motel has a check out time? We are driving our own vehicle, so time is not a big issue.
Thanks again!
You can take your time and have breakfast. Once your number is called, you can disembark anytime you want. Once off the ship, you can have a porter assist you with your luggage or do it yourself. Completely up to you.
You do have to be off the ship by sometime between 9 and 10am.

Using Royal Caribbean's Cellular at Seas is roaming, no matter where you are from. As someone from Spain, using Cellular at Sea would be like using AT&T in the USA: you're roaming no matter what.
When is your next cruise?
