LTCMore
Rccl has been a disappointment so far and we haven't even boarded the ship. Thru our travel agent we received spa treatments and specialty restaurant complimentary. Only caveat must be booked upon boarding. Received alert today coast guard inspection board by deck very late starts at 1:00. Our deck last 2:45. So by the time we get on board most likely will be unable to make spa appts and get a restaurant on a good night. I made other restaurant reservations for last night 8ppl 7pm only to find out after a total of 6 calls and many hours later that their system had a glitch and it would be fixed. No confirmation received when they said I would see it. I call again and it wasn't fixed and other changes were made. Now the time and table size no longer available. I did this in August. Their system failed they knew it and allowed cruisers to make new reservations. The website is awful always oops on vacation try again later messages. I have cruised on ncl , celebrity and carnival never had these problems. Really wanted to rent the royal connect phones too but by the time we get on the ship they will most likely be unavailable. Does anyone have suggestions?
Matt
It sounds like the Coast Guard is behind the delays, so not much you or Royal Caribbean could do about things. My suggestion is be patient and still arrive at the port in the morning and see what's happening. Things like spa appointments and dinner ressies can always be moved around, so don't sweat it. On my Navigator of the Seas cruise earlier this year we were delayed around 7 hours to board due to fog and didnt leave port until midway through day 2. We still had a fantastic time! markinct
I hope the rest of your cruise makes up for the rocky start!
DocLC
I agree with Matt. I've received similar emails from other cruise lines suggesting that there'd be a delay and there wasn't one. RCI is just trying to cover their bases in case there is an actual, although unlikely, delay.
