ZBoyles
Hello, I will be taking my mother on her first cruise next year but a few months ago she was diagnosed with Alpha-Gal syndrome which means she can not eat anything that comes from mammals. This allergy has proven difficult in restaurant settings as many even white meats are cooked with some form of animal fat or with some kind of dairy included. I know that the main dining room can work with her restrictions but was curious about other places on the ship. How difficult is it going to be for her to find options that she will be able to eat? Nothing from mammals means no beef/pork/lamb/dairy. She can have turkey/chicken/fish/vegetables/grains etc. I was unaware how difficult it was to stay clear of this stuff until she was diagnosed with this allergy. Even some plastics have animal byproducts and can cause a reaction. Thank you for any input!
jbrinkm
I would be cautious of many of the desserts that may contain gelatin.
asquared17
@ZBoylesi'm also wondering if you should reach out via the special needs form to broach this with the appropriate parties to ensure that her food can remain safe/uncontaminated. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/resources/guest-special-needs
