Pool Deck noise in Jr. Suite on IofS

Recommended Posts

I was contemplating a future cruise and thinking about upgrading our usual balcony room to a Jr. Suite, but all that is available is on the 10th deck below the pool deck on the Independence of the Seas. Just wondering if anyone in the blog has stayed in these rooms and how much sound filters down. They are rooms available in the Aft and Mid of the ship if that helps.

as always, Thank you for reading/responding to my inquiry.

The main noise issue being below the pool deck is from the crew dragging and arranging the chairs very early in the morning. How bad this noise will be will depend on how heavy you sleep and how sensitive to noise you are. For me personally, this is a no-go when booking a cabin. For others, they will say it’s no big deal.

.

We have been directly below an active deck.  Chairs being dragged around and running are the biggest culprits to me.  Initially it's bothersome.  In short order, my little brain just tunes it out, not much different than folks living by railroad tracks (including me at one time) tune out the train racket.

Everybody has different tolerances of such inconveniences, and only you can know if you can live with this racket.
