Just bringing carry ons, not sure if that makes a difference. No. The ship may arrive at 6am but earliest departure will be around 6:45-7am. Then you have to get to the airport. Bear in mind that an 8:30 flight will commence boarding 10-15min before that. So, you would need to be at the gate, not the airport, by 8am at the latest. Even with TSA precheck and no checked bags, you would need to be at the airport before 7:30. This is all based on absolutely nothing going wrong. The rule is anything after 12, but ideally you could say after 10:30 if you have no checked bags, TSA PreCheck and do self-departure.
