AS0612
Hi All, I apologize in advance if this is a topic being repeated. I haven't been on a Royal cruise for a few years and I am excited to get back on the open seas in February. I just purchased a refreshment package and was automatically charged 18% gratuity which is totally fine. I am not a big drinker so the deluxe package is not worth it for me but plan on occasionally buying a cocktail. Does anyone know if the gratuity they automatically added to my refreshment package go towards alcohol? I mean clearly I know I have to pay for the drink but want to make sure I tip accordingly if it will already be added. I also prepaid my other gratuity upon booking. Thanks! -
AshleyDillo
The tip added to your refreshment package covers all of the gratuities for any drinks that you get using the package. If you purchase an alcoholic drink you will pay menu prices plus an automatic 18% gratuity on those drinks.

Moby Dick
My general rule of thumb (yes, there are some exceptions): If it's a food and/or drink item and it is served to you by a person, pre-paid or not, package or not, it will automatically have an 18% gratuity attached to it.
