BigMac3001
First of all, I apologize if this is a dumb question. My family is taking our first cruise ever on June 4th on Symphony, and I am learning as I go. We booked our cruise today, and I saw there were only four spots left for the Dolphin Encounter via Royal Caribbean, so I grabbed 3 of them. My question now is, if we get done with that at 10:30, is it possible to make it over to Chacchoben, and if so, who would you all recommend as a company to get us there? It looks like round trip is four hours, so the math works, but math isn't everything. :) Thanks all!
KristiZ
Welcome to the boards! Not a dumb question at all. It depends on your personal risk tolerance. If you can score a Royal excursion to Chacchoben, and you have about an hour (more or less) between the start of it and the end of the dolphin one, go for it. If the time between in much shorter, you risk missing the second excursion if something happens to delay your return from the first one. If you take a 3rd party excursion to the ruins, then you need to look hard at when all-abord is and make sure you are back in plenty of time. The ship will not wait for you if something happens and you are delayed. Personally I never risk a 3rd party excursion at the end of the day, but that's just me. Hope that helps! wordell1
I Recommend Native Choice - It's a third-party tour company that operates in Costa Maya. Email them and they will let you know about the timing. BigMac3001
Thanks for the feedback. We made a reservation with Chac Ek. They had a lot of positive reviews, and they quickly confirmed that they would be able to get us there and back in time.

Hi, I was looking at other 3rd party excursions for the Mayan ruins, and was wondering how yours went. And if you guys came back with plenty of time before the ship left?
