One block up you will find Front Street which is the major shopping area. When you swim in the water you have a great view of the cruise port area and the ships. The water taxi from the port takes you right to one end of Great Bay beach. If you walk from the port it's about a 10 minute walk. There are a lot of beachfront restaurants and shops along that stretch of boardwalk that will rent you chairs for the day and allow you to use their facilities. One of the nicer ones is Holland House (https://www.hhbh.com/beach) which advertises on their website $25 for chair rentals (comes with 4 beers/sodas/waters).
