We will have a day in St Kitts, and I was thinking of using it to go to Nevis. We have never been to either places. Theres only 1 excursions that includes Nevis and its the " day trip to Nevis with lunch". Are we better off booking this, or just figuring it out on our own? The reviews on the excursion aren't great, do I'd like to see what other options or recommendations I can get.

We did this excursion a few years ago. It was just ok. Try this link out, they may have something more for St. Kitts: http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/

I just did the Fan Ta Sea catamaran cruise to Nevis last week.  They sail from the port to a place to snorkel and see a shipwreck (the snorkeling was "ok" at best"), and then off to Nevis for an hour and a half or so at a beach near Sunshine's Bar.  If you go there, drink just one Killer Bee.  Two is frightening, and three will kill you.  Rum punch and beer flowed for the sailing home.  My wife and I enjoyed the trip immensely, but be aware that RC oversells the excursion so places to sit in the shade are limited and some people didn't get to partake in the lunch as they ran out of food.
