Reb Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 We're booked on Radiance for May 5 and plan to stay a couple days in Honolulu and Vancouver. Any suggestions on hotels for both and activities in Vancouver? Quote
twangster Posted February 19, 2020 Report Posted February 19, 2020 Like a visit to any city this will largely be driven by your budget and how important it is to be near downtown or tourist attractions. In Honolulu the pier is very close to Waikiki so the range of hotels is endless. Beach front hotels and ocean facing rooms will be more expensive that hotels a few blocks from the beach. In Vancouver the cruise terminal is downtown where hotels are more costly compared to the airport area where they are less expensive and downtown is a train ride away. Is the convenience of staying downtown worth a few hundred more? Quote
Reb Posted February 21, 2020 Author Report Posted February 21, 2020 Thanks for your thoughts. I wasn't sure where the cruise terminals were for either location so that helps settle some concerns. I know I've seen lots of choices for Honolulu and can narrow down some options for Vancouver as well. Quote
twangster Posted February 21, 2020 Report Posted February 21, 2020 The cruise ship terminal in Vancouver is called Canada Place so a search for hotels near there will give you idea of cost. The airport code is YVR so a hotel search near the airport will give you a comparison. The train line that runs between the two is called the Canada Line. http://thecanadaline.com/ The last station is Waterfront which is a 5-10 minute walk to Canada Place. I've used the Canada Line coming off a cruise in Vancouver to get to the airport and I've used the Canada Line from an airport hotel to reach the cruise terminal when departing from Vancouver. Both ways are easy, affordable and convenient. markinct 1 Quote
