Casino Prime Member Free Cruise

Here is the situation.  We want to put a deposit down on a cruise now for November 2020 (since there is only one room left in the suite we want).  We are hoping that we can reserve it now and then when we receive our free Prime casino annual cruise in April 2020, call and have it re-priced (as an interior with an upgrade to a suite).

I know I can do the upgrade but can it be done on already booked cruises?  In other words, are they still allowing you to convert your already booked cruise to your "free" cruise?

I called casino reservations number but they didn't sound too sure of themselves so I wanted to see if anyone has been able to do this.

I am planning on doing the same exact thing.  I don’t know what will happen but I THINK that the worst that will happen is that they may penalize us $200 for the nonrefundable deposit....even though that should NOT apply since we will be changing neither the ship nor cruise date...  But if the do charge us the $200, it will be a small price to pay as we would save thousands with the casino rate vs regular price.  I guess we’ll find out soon.  I plan to do this as soon as the 2019-2020 casino year starts (April 1, 2019).

Thank you WAAAYTOOO!  Fingers crossed!  I have one for this September I want to put a hold on but it is for 4 of us so I need to put down $2,000 and don't want to risk the upgrade price being quoted at a much higher amount then we want to spend so we are waiting on that one.

Do you know if we can book our free Prime cruise on the ship through Next Reservations?  I only ask because we will be on Anthem through the first week of April which is when the free cruises are supposed to be released.  It would be great if we could take advantage of lower deposits!

That's a great question.  To be honest, since you are planning on booking this cruise first and then converting it to a "free" casino Prime cruise later, I wouldn't think it would matter how you make the initial booking.  When you go to convert it, you will then be faced with whatever consequences there are with repricing it.  I will say though...something that I did not think about when I answered you the first time....  If they DO impose a penalty for repricing the cruise, it would have a significantly greater impact to you, with 4 pax, than it would for us, where there are only 2 of us.  If they DO penalize you $200 each for repricing the suite that would be an $800 penalty for you where it would only be a $400 one for us.  I feel you would STILL come out ahead since the casino upgrade price will likely save you thousands, but it's not nearly as attractive a deal for 4 of you.  Just thinking out loud.  I'm not even sure they'll let us do it !!  One thing's for sure.  If you book the cruise through NextCruise and then reprice it using your free Prime casino offer, you will most definitely lose any OBC associated with the NC booking.  It's such a small amount these days that it isn't even worth worrying about but you would definitely lose it with a reprice.

There are no actual certificates for your annual “free” Prime Cruise.  You just call Club Royale and book any cruise you want. The exclusions are holiday sailings and any cruise greater than 8 days.  Other than that, you can book your free cruise on any sailing 8 days or less (no holidays).

Any certificate you receive while on a cruise (an awards certificate) is a bonus.  The terms of those onboard certificates vary greatly but the certificate will let you know what the terms are.  These certificates are based on the amount of time you play, the value of your wagers and the amount of overall losses for that cruise only.

It is also worth noting that “free” cruises are very affordably upgraded. If you are a Prime, your annual free cruise is for an interior room.  You can accept the free interior room or you can upgrade that room to a higher category. The upgrades are highly discounted.
