  1. Welp - after two transatlantics were cancelled, we decided to switch gears and do something completely different so we booked this cruise. Fingers crossed that this one sticks. Iceland has been on my bucket list for a while and this should be a great itinerary. Looking forward to meeting others on this one!
  2. Excited to be going on this cruise. Have always wanted to visit Iceland and Ireland. Taking this cruise with my mom and brother.
  3. Royal Caribbean will have at least 6 cruise ships definitely sailing this summer. I am very interested to see how many people have booked the different cruise options available for this summer.
  4. My daughter is graduating high school so we booked a Greek Islands cruise on Jewel of the Seas, June 23 - June 30, 2019. This is our first time to Europe and my mother in law (who has never flown or been out of the Southeast US) is also going with us on this girls trip. What are the must sees and do's? We'd like a nice mix of historical sites, beaches and landscape sightseeing - without paying a fortune. At this rate, our flight may be more expensive than the cruise. ? Any other tips or tricks? Any must do's on the cruise ship? Thanks yall! 3
  5. Way back in March I booked (using my United miles) the Sheraton Old San Juan for the night before our 1/7/18 Southern Caribbean Cruise. I've been hearing rumors about last minute hotel cancellations in San Juan either due to hotel hurricane recovery issues or hotels housing relief workers instead (some sources are claiming the hotels get more $$$ from the relief funds). I had not heard a peep from the Sheraton, but I decided to call today to check on my reservation and they advised me that they are not accepting guests until 1/8! I have since been on the phone with United who is telling me that the Sheraton is attempting to secure a reservation for me at a comparable hotel. I will give them a day or two before I fully panic and start calling again, but I am feeling quite nervous. Of course, I am very sympathetic to all the challenges and struggles that Puerto Rico is facing; still, I want to make sure we have a place to sleep that night! Anyone else experiencing these issues? Oh, and if you did the same thing as we did and planned to arrive in San Juan the day before the cruise, you may want to check on your reservation....
  6. Hi, Can't find any detailed info on Jewel dining. Specialty dining: Giovanni's Izumi Chop's Chef's table Vintages Complimentary: MDR Windjammer Pizzeria (mentioned on RCCL website, where would that be? can't find it on the deck plans) Café Latté-tudes Unfortunately didn't get the Park Café addition last year... Do they sometimes serve the Kummelweck somewhere else (on ships without Park Café)? I really miss the taste of it :D So the only complimentary ones are MDR, Windjammer and the snacks from Latté-tudes? Looks quite meager on the dining side, compared to the Radiance where we've been on... Do they maybe offer some Park Café snacks at Latté-tudes? And is there no more Solarium Café in the Solarium? No food anymore available there? On the other Radiance class ships they have the Park Café in the Solarium...how do they use the same space on the Jewel? Can somebody maybe help me with my questions? A Jewel insider? ;) Thanks in advance!
  7. We dont like dress up during our vacations so we are skipping the MDR on formal nights. Is it an option to visit one of the specialty restaurants on those nights? What is the dress code for those restaurants? What is acceptable; collared shirt (oxford) and polo shirts, khakis or slacks? We will be cruising on the Jewel of the Seas. Thank you for your help.
