So it appears my USB power hub may not be allowed anymore because it has a cord. Does anyone know if this device is allowed (thinking about Vision and Radiance class ships in particular) https://www.amazon.com/EPICKA-Universal-Adapter-International-Worldwide/dp/B0BYRLPQL3/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_1?pd_rd_w=w739j&content-id=amzn1.sym.352fa4e9-2aa8-47c3-b5ac-8a90ddbece20%3Aamzn1.symc.40e6a10e-cbc4-4fa5-81e3-4435ff64d03b&pf_rd_p=352fa4e9-2aa8-47c3-b5ac-8a90ddbece20&pf_rd_r=W5X5MPNGPVQ6TWBCCM6R&pd_rd_wg=B21UJ&pd_rd_r=13b375f1-8420-4589-868a-db0c3ba73841&pd_rd_i=B0BYRLPQL3&th=1

Hi Everyone, In the past, I've always gotten an annual trip insurance policy from Allianz. However, that is no longer needed since my credit card (Chase Sapphire) includes travel insurance. However, there's one aspect of it I'm not crazy about. Its limit on medical expenses (not emergency evacuation) is only $2500 while Alliianz's limit was $50000. So, my question: Is there an annual policy anyone has that just covers me for medical expenses that would exceed Chase's coverage ($2500)? TIA!

I respectively do not agree. Last year, we took Radiance in Alaska and the experience was way better than had we been on a mega ship. In addition, mega ships can't use the ports in Tampa and Baltimore. Say what you want but the Baltimore cruises are usually full and not discounted (in spite of so-so itineraries). There was even a time, when the Baltimore cruises (on Vision class ships) had the nick name of the "Royal ATMs". Finally, there are also some natural harbors in Europe (e.g. Montenegro) that can't handle large ships. Whenever I've asked captains (like at the Q&A) about newer smaller ships, they have always agreed that they are needed.

Costa Maya Suggestions (other than Maya Chan)
baltodave replied to baltodave's topic in Shore Excursions
Thanks! but it looks very pricey at $135 pp. -
Hi Everyone, We've been to Costa Maya a few times and have always visited Maya Chan (and loved it every time) For our next Western Caribbean cruise that stops there, does anyone have any other suggestions on how to spend the day in Costa Maya? We'd like to try something different other than Maya Chan (can be RC excursion or independent). TIA!

We're not going until Oct 2025. Galveston is actually easy for us since I live in the Balto area and SW has many flights BWI-HOU (Hobby). Also, my wife has cousins in Houston so we might go a few days earlier and spend time with them. We've only been on one Oasis class ship. It was Oasis and it was way back in 2017 before she was amp'd. To tell the truth, I prefer Voyager and Freedom class but have been on all classes. I do remember that when we sailed on Oasis, we didn't even bother going to see Cats (and I think we'd enjoy Grease). Amazing after all these years, RC still does Cats on Oasis. We've been on Western Carib sailings before and I actually like them. I do want to try Paradise Beach in Cozumel and we've been to Maya Chan twice (and loved it both times) in Costa Maya. We've also been to the sloth place in Roatan and if we go, there's an animal lover in our group who will go nuts there. One additional thing: We've been on one sailing out of Galveston (it was on Liberty OTS) and the other guests were great (mostly from Texas and Oklahoma). I remember a large Texas flag hanging on one end of the Promenade.

I asked the question because we are debating between two sailings that are the same week. We don't usually do specialty restaurants and do not cruise with kids. The way I see it, the major differences are the show (Cats vs. Grease) and that on Harmony the Solarium does not have a pool. So it will come down to price and itinerary.

Thanks everyone for the tips. We were on Oasis a very long time ago (before she was amp'd) and it seems they made great improvements. From the comments you all made, it seems Oasis "wins" except for one thing: IMO Grease is a better show (for a cruise ship) than Cats.

We are deciding between sailings on Oasis and Harmony. What are the similarities and differences between Oasis OTS and Harmony OTS. I know they are both the same layout (Oasis Class) but want to know how they differ. TIA!

Great! We've done many Royal cruises (reached "Diamond" last year) but this will be the first time out of NOLA. We haven't been on Brilliance but took it's sister ship (Radiance) in Alaska last year. It's a different vibe than the mega ships but the views are great. I'd say the only criticism of Radiance class ships are that the Windjammer and Centrum seemed very small.

James Van Fleet no longer with RC

Fantastic video. Though it's long, it was very informative (as a RC fan who often sails during hurricane season) -
Even Vison class ships?

Does anyone know which RC ships have Pickleball (we know Odyssey has it but don't know about the others)? TIA!

I have a similar story. We used to use cruise.com but switched to MEI (Michelle C.) several cruises ago. She's great! I still use cruise.com's search engine to find something we're interested in and then contact Michelle at MEI to do the booking for us. Usually she has a group rate that is refundable and it many times turns out to be a better price.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find the thread.... My wife and I are each Diamond level C&A and it's our understanding that we each get one free day of Internet. How does that work? Could my wife get it on day 2 and I get it on day 3? Do we utilize the Cruise Planner? Thanks! You guys rock!

I agree. We're "Diamond" and even that doesn't push us to Celebrity. Since I live in the Baltimore area (if you didn't guess from my handle), we're looking forward to a Vision replacement that will be able to use the Baltimore port.

During last night's Youtube Live I asked where to stay for a few nights in Cocoa Beach (that won't break the bank) prior to a Port Canaveral cruise. @Matt strongly suggested "Home2 Suites". When I looked it up, I discovered that it has everything but it's not on the beach. We'd like to spend one day at the beach and another day at the Kennedy Space Center (prior to our cruise). So, does anyone have any other suggestions (that's on the beach)? TIA!

Best way to check if booking price went down
baltodave replied to Kim66's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I second her! She's great! -
You can probably guess based on my handle that I'm a Ravens fan. Well, they are playing Thursday night the week of our cruise. Normally TNF is only shown on Amazon Prime and local channels of the teams playing. It will be interesting to see if ESPN-Caribbean (which is shown on RC ships) carries Amazon Prime games. (I'm guessing not).

Would that make it small enough for Tampa, Baltimore, Panama Canal and some European Ports (e.g. Montenegro)?

It's worse. Single odds!
