  1. G'day, Just wondering are we allowed to go onboard with a bar of chocolate and some potato chips etc in our luggage for snacks ? Peter
  2. poider and mrs poider, Radiance of the Seas 12/feb/2015 Peter
  3. yes we needed adapters when we were in the UK
  4. Now to tackle the dining times.... When booking our cruise ( and mind you we booked 9 months in advance) we were told that all of the 6.30pm dining slots were booked and we had an option to book at 8.30pm or flexi time. We thought that 8.30pm may be a little late every night so we went with the flexi time, the travel agent explained that flexitime meant we could eat at either time as long as we booked first. We now have friends from interstate that are coming on the cruise as well, and they booked the 8.30 timeslot. They are a party of three, are we allowed to ask them to book for five even though they are only three? I assume that sometime during each day we will have to make a booking for the time we want, or do we have to just turn up and wait for a table to become available. Does this apply to all cafes and restaurants and dining rooms? Peter
  5. I have read in my Royal Caribbean brochure that we are not allowed to bring power transformers or power boards on the ship, so how do I charge the batteries on my Camera, and my laptop / Ipad (if I bring them)? Do the staterooms have any adapters for using the plugs we have in Australia? Peter
  6. Ok thnx for that, we are booking through a travel agent, we always have used travel agents here in Australia. Peter
  7. Thanks for that Mike, I am wondering if it is the same in Australia, and out of curiosity do you book through Royal Caribbean or through a Travel Agent? Peter
  8. I would like to see a drinks package based on user pays, with prices calculated based on how many drinks are purchased. I am purchasing a drinks package to remove any worry from my holiday, but it is a shame to know that I will probably pay for many drinks that I will never drink. Peter
  9. Thank you both for that Peter
  10. G'day again, I am curious if anybody can point me to a link that has videos on the ship that shows the clothing the majority wear. I know this sounds a little finicky, but I have heard many mixed opinions of what is defined as smart casual, etc There is a link on RC website that says what to wear in shot detail but they describe smart casual as jacket and tie and formal as being suit and tie. I have smart casual shirts and trousers but am a little unsure about the jacket, is it a suit jacket, or just a decent jacket with trousers and a shirt. are the dining rooms air conditioned? Peter
  11. I have paid for air fares and a deposit, everything is confirmed but we have not paid in full as yet, Perhaps we cannot pre book anything as we have not yet paid fully. Do you get the sea pass / cruise card when it is paid or when you get to the ship? Peter
  12. So to make sure I am getting this all right I am curious.... My wife and I will both purchase a drinks package as I don't want to have a worry about costs of drinks etc so if I am siting down to dinner in the main dinning room and a waiter comes and offers drinks do I hand my card over and he gets a drink for us and takes it from the credit on the drinks package or if I want to use the drinks package for dinner drinks I need to go to the bar and use my card each time also when we board if we are offered a welcome drink is that paid for from our drinks package or charged separately to my seapass? Peter
  13. We are cruising in February 2015 so still 8 months away or 251 days 39 minutes and 30...29...28...27...26...seconds, so I know we cannot book anything yet. But just curious we spoke to the travel agent today and she told us we can book drinks package and excursions 75 days prior to departure, but we still cannot pay for them, as they will be charged to the cruise card and paid for at the end of the cruise on board the ship... so I guess we will have to budget for the drinks and excursions in US dollars. Peter
  14. So once we book our baggage in we have to stay with it? we cannot turn up at 11am, book our luggage in and then take a walk around the ship, I assumed once you booked the luggage in it was taken away and delivered to your room, people talk about tipping the porter, but if I have to stay with my luggage until I am allowed in my room then what is the point of getting people booked in early?
  15. I think we will, we both love photography so will have plenty of photos to show when we get back Peter
  16. Ship models, did somebody mention ship models, I am drooling now, I want I want I want I want, somebody stop me ...... they are so hard to come by in australia Peter
  17. I have read that as we have a room on deck 10 we are boarding at 11am. Are we allowed to go into our rooms at that time and are we allowed to go and have lunch on board then leave the ship for some photos and reboard later? Peter
  18. thanks tylor, I have looked at some of the excursions and tried to find out more but the site tells me I can only book onboard or it is too early Peter
  19. well I did find out about the drinks package, apparently they put a sticker on your cruise card. Peter
  20. G'day, I am looking at all the options and trying to plan for the best experience possible with the funds I have available and are a little confused by all the AU and US dollars etc The drinks package prices are quoted in US$ and the shore excursions are quoted in AU$ does that mean when preparing my budget I will have to budget for the 40 US$ package really costing me 43 AUS$ ? The excursions are quoted in AUS$ so I budget for a 409 AUS$ excursion costing 409 AUS$. Do we pay for excursions and or drinks packages before we get on board or is it all paid through the cruise card at the end of the cruise? If it is paid prior to boarding the ship do we pay US or AUS dollar and if paid at the end of the cruise do we pay AUS or US dollars? Peter
