  1. For you comparison, they quoted us: FLL hotel on 17th St. to Port of Miami $145 Port of Miami to MIA $125 This is for a private sprinter van for 10 people. It still pains me to pay this knowing that I can Uber/Lyft usually for way cheaper but with my parents and a few kids under 10, this was the easiest way for us to all stay together. Other companies that I priced out (ex. Larry's Limo, Miami Luxury Shuttle, etc.) were all higher quotes.
  2. I just booked with QLS for March 2023. There are 10 of us, cruising from Miami but we have to fly into FLL because of flight times. I priced out a bunch of private car service places and QLS had very reasonable rates.
  3. Seeing that this topic already exists in another thread, I'm going to lock this one.
  4. IIRC, this is right around the time I “met” the famous @twangstertoo! Lol
  5. Ah…the GS on Harmony holds a special spot in my heart. It was our first dive into “suite life” in 2017. Well, you know what happened after that. Lol. So yes! It is worth it! Pics not too great, this was also “pre-blogging days”
  6. No, the only reason why I was looking at 2023 repositioning sailings is because I am off teaching in the 2023-2024 school year. That is a great price though on Voyager!
  7. Here are a few star class sailings (both pre and post pandemic) that I have blogged with some thoughts: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/10695-“i-dream-of-genie”-–-star-class-harmony-of-the-seas-–-031019-031719/ https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/27142-an-alluring-tale-of-love-…-a-blessed-25-years-a-joyful-return-to-the-starry-seas-allure-of-the-seas-12192021-–-12232021/ https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/29583-meet-us-at-the-oasis-the-majorstarclasstakeover-edition-oa-3132022/ https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/33005-“the-starry-neighbor-neighbour-chronicles-pining-for-the-fjords”-–-anthem-of-the-seas-july-8th-15th-2022/ Best advice, don't try to copy or expect someone else's experience. It will only lead to disappointment. Every genie is different and every guest is different. The same genie can hit it off with one set of guests and not another. It comes down to personality. Make it your own experience. And some offerings differ from ship to ship as well. I learned that during my very first SC experience.
  8. @tjcruiserswhat @AshleyDillosaid is pretty much all you get if it's a non-Oasis/Quantum ship, even with the very top suite. We just sailed Freedom in the Royal Suite and it was nothing like star class at all, no additional benefits other than access to the suite lounge and escort on/off the ship. There is no complimentary VOOM, drinks, dining, laundry, genie, none of that. But then again, these ships without star are also much cheaper too.
  9. Cruise planner pricing varies a lot! I am sailing Symphony as well this December and $72.99 is the current pricing as well. This price might go up or down with different cruise planner sales etc. My best advice is to book and grab a price you are comfortable with, then keep checking and if the price drops, cancel and re-book. You can do this up until the cruise planner closes (2-3 days prior to sailing).
  10. If you are using a US agent, and paying in US dollars, your Cruise planner pricing is in American dollars. We are Canadian but my TA is US based and I also pay in US dollars.
  11. It currently says 12oz. cans (not 1L). I have a sailing coming up where I ordered it and it says Dasani cans. Thinking of cancelling it because that doesn't really appeal to me.
  12. This just made me thinking of another question, as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens, all D+), would we only pay for 2 guests and the other 2 are free? And, if I reserved it ahead of time on the cruise planner (to secure a time slot), could I just get the complimentary ones refunded back to me once onboard?
  13. Nope. They all either fall under the “cannot take time off work” or “cannot leave children during school year” category. I’ve always wanted to try a solo cruise. Just not sure if I want to do 12 nights solo.
  14. I have thrown the idea out, but I don't know if I am brave enough to do it lol
  15. Hubby is also leaning towards no (too small, too much MDR) but I have a hold on a cabin anyway lol, it seems like too good of a deal to pass up.
  16. I know right?! The last time we sailed radiance class was 2005….
  17. It's generally a sailing that "repositions" a ship. It starts and ends at different ports. So in this case, Serenade is leaving her home port in Tampa, and heading to Boston for a short Canada/NE season. Generally, repo sailings are cheaper for the reasons that @twangsteralready mentioned.
  18. I haven't even put down a deposit yet lol When does Serenade get revamped? Yolo, do it! It's actually leaving my teenage kids that poses the biggest conflict. Normally we leave them in the summer when school is not in session and they go to my parents for the week. With this being in September, they would need to be at home, better work space for them.
  19. Hubby has brought this up. He makes fun of me but he is way worse lol
  20. I was hoping someone would bring up something negative so I can forget about it. Wishful thinking?
