  1. Yeah was a rainy day yesterday and although the slides are covered the exits to the slide were drenched from the rain. Merry go round was closed part of the day due to the same.
  2. My kids are still a little shy with the bigger slides, they will do the smaller ones though. Abyss was closed all day due to the weather, was looking forward to that.
  3. So day one is in the books. Weather wise it was a crummy day but we made the best of it, our Fine Line show was canceled and moved to day 6 due to the weather. Had lunch at Windjammer, then kids got hungry before dinner so we stopped at mini bites and totally ruined dinner so instead the kids decided they wanted to swim instead. So far my kids are having the times of their lives and we have just begun, cant wait to see what else is in store. Off to bed I go, have an early breakfast with the Dreamworks characters in the AM
  4. So far we hit Windjammer, mini bites and frozen yogurt machines. We are doing this the right way correct? ???
  5. Thank you everyone. Currently sitting in Windjammer with everyone for lunch. Left our house at 8:30 and got down here about 9:45 with the rain slowing us down some. Parking, security and checking in was such a breeze and then had about a 15 min wait to board. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little emotional stepping onboard, similar to when we took our kids to Disney for the first time. Off to kids club and shore excursions we go
  6. So here we are a day before we set sail on our first family cruise, and our first Royal Caribbean cruise infact. It is my wife and I, our three daughters who are 5, 6 and 7 years old along with my mom and brother. We booked this in March of last year ,if my memory serves correct, so this trip has been a long time in the making. Will try and post as time permits and put up pictures as well. Started packing 3 weeks ago so that is how excited I have been ? Took today off work so I can finish packing and some other last minute things. We live in West Palm Beach so tomorrow morning we will hit the road for the port which is an hour drive south for us, not too bad. A few things Ever since RC came out with their Oasis class ships I knew that I had to go one and when Harmony came out with the all the slides I was sold (im a big kid at heart), so that was one of the reasons we decided on Harmony of the Seas. Our trips is headed to the western Caribbean with stops in Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel. I have been on a cruise to the eastern Caribbean many moons ago on NCL and really wanted to see these island this time around We booked 2 boardwalk balcony rooms, both towards the back of the ship. I love the hustle and bustle of everything and wanted to have somewhat of a view of the show in the back so i was pretty set on getting one of these rooms. Our Excursions Labadee - aquapark, zipline and coaster Falmouth - dolphin encounter. Cozumel - spending the day at Mr Sanchos Well thanks for following along and if you have any questions or anything please don't hesitate to comment below.
  7. We are on Harmony Saturday and had decided on Mr Sanchos for the day for us and the kids. From all the videos and reviews I have read it seems like a good choice for us.
  8. Welp, here we are two weeks away from our cruise, can't believe how fast the time has passed from when we booked. If its any indication of how excited I am, I have two bags packed already ?. Well one is really just really things I know I wont be wearing the next two weeks like my sports jacket and some beach stuff and the other is my camera bag with my camera, lenses. and tripod. Here is what we decided on and have booked for each of our ports Labadee - Zipline, coaster and inflatable waterpark (I might be more excited for that than my kids lol) Jamacia - Dolphin encounter Cozumel - Mr Sanchos, maybe a little shopping downtown also On the boat Have a show booked pretty much each evening Dreamworks breakfast Internet package Soda package
  9. Here's a question, tomorrow is our 90 day Mark and can begin online check in at that point but will it allow us if we have yet to receive our passports? We are just waiting on them to arrive.
  10. If you're looking for a unique place for lunch this place is pretty cool and unique and close to the are you will be in. Opens at noon on Sundays jaxsonsicecream.com/
  11. And for only $10 its not a bad deal at all. What all characters where there?
  12. So what initially started as 417 days to go has quickly become 92 days until we set sail. Everyone is super excited and have been watching a ton of YouTube videos on everything from tours of the ship to the ports and excursions, which drives up the excitement level 10 fold. So far the only thing we have booked ahead of time is the Dreamworks character breakfast for the kidos and do plan on booking our excursions and on ship packages before we set sail. Another part of the cruise im looking forward to it is the photography side of this trip. I dabble in photography and cant wait to get out there and get some photos of the boat an islands we're visiting. Here is what we have narrowed time for our time at each port besides the obvious shopping and eating that we will be doing. Labadee - zip line, coaster, inflatable water park Jamaica - Dolphin Cove Cozumel - Mr Sanchos Plan on booking ahead of time Internet package Soda package 1-2 specialty dining meals
  13. How busy was the coaster through out the day? I was leaning towards booking it all day but was curious how busy the lines got. Im a huge coaster fan so would ride at least 2-3 times if lines allowed. I picked up Sony's version of the GoPro last year so we are covered with that, will use that to take video on the coaster and zip line. Actually going to pick up another one so my wife can use while on the trip so she has something that can go in and out of the water and not have to worry about getting wet. If we decide on the dolphin experience we would have to do the one where you get in waist deep water and they come over to you since 2 of our kids will be younger than the age of 8 they recommend it for when it comes time to go. Ive read the photo packages was pretty high but how how else can you get photos, will they allow you to take pictures with your own camera? Do you think the whole experience was worth the money, especially with it only being 2 hours?
  14. Thank you. I had planned to bring my Sony Action Cam but was curious about my DLSR. Sounds like the safe play would be to leave it behind.
  15. Question - If one were to do the soft drink packages does anyone know if the coke freestyle machines offer water form them? Essentially making the bottle water service obsolete for us if so. Also does anyone know if they allow camera on the coaster in Labadee?
  16. Not sure the cabanas would work out well for us. Our 3 kids do not sit still at all so relaxing is something we dont do much, lol. We will end up bouncing around from the different beach throughout the day so having one main spot usually never works out for us with doing that.
  17. Thank you for the tips. I have a customer of mine who is huge into cruises and he was the one who recommended going to Playa versus staying in Cozumel. He said shopping and dining was better and more of a selection on the mainland than it was on Cozumel. We are open to either really since it will be our shore day with no excursions paid for so we are free to do what ever we want. Im definitely open to hearing everyone thoughts on this as well. For Jamaica im a little nervous doing something that isn't thru RC after reading some not so positive reviews but would love to hear others opinions on this as well. Right now we are leaning towards a dolphin experience excursion.
  18. That was something we have read from a few places, to book excursion and everything early. We are over a year out and already know what we want to do for excursion, lol. I do have a couple questions, from my understanding we are able to start booking them 90 days out correct? And when booking excursions through RC ahead of time do we pay for them at time of booking them or do they get added to our bill and we pay at the end of the cruise? Here is what we are thinking of tentatively Labadee - Kids and myself want to do the inflatable water park my brother and i the coaster and zip line my wife and mom just want to relax and hangout Falmouth - I want to do Dunns but wife has a bad shoulder and if she falls on it that would be game over for her. Plus with the should makes it hard for her to climb and hold hands while climbing. Then she thinks our kids would be too chicken to, which i agree with her on that, they said noway while watching youtube videos from there, lol. They are suggested the dolphin experience where you knell down and pet them which would be nice but really how long is that going to be. Cozumel - Think this day we will take a ferry over to the main land and do some shopping, dining and maybe the beach there.
  19. I appreciate it. We are up in Palm Beach Gardens so will drive down the morning of since its only about an hour or so away. :)
  20. We just booked our first family cruise on the Harmony for May 2018 and super excited :D . This is our first cruise as a family with my last cruise back in the mid 90s in my teens, my wife's in the early 2000s and our 3 kids (will be 7,6 and 5 at time of cruise) first all together. Western Caribbean itinerary, 2 boardwalk balcony rooms since we will have my mom and brother with us also. My previous cruise was back on the old Norwegian ship the SS Norway so this will be quite a different experience for me. Im sure ill have tons of questions before then so will post here when the time comes. 417 days to go but who's counting lol
  21. Silly question, do they allow you to bring your own skates on board with your?
  22. I called yesterday to find out about dates for June 2018 and the representative told me sometime in February or early March. Looking to book Harmony for that time frame
