  1. I see that the Americas Cup Village appears to be within maybe 40 minutes walk of the Kings Wharf where Anthem will be docked. I'll be adventuring with my wife and 80 year old mother. Considering the very limited window of maybe 8 hours before the boat leaves... My plan is to: - Have breakfast on ship and pack a few light sandwiches, fruit and snack items in my cooler bag with a frozen gel pack. - Grab a cab and go to Somerset and wander a few shops, take a few pics. BUY A BOTTLE OF THE LOCAL RUM. Goslings. - Lunch at a local establishment with eye on having Bermudian fish chowder and fried fish sandwiches. - Hop the bus back toward the wharf, but stop along Lagoon Road to meander over to the Americas cup village, take on the sights of the entertainment, buy a few souvenirs related to the race. - Bus back to Kings Wharf and visit the rumcake factory, sample a few and maybe buy a couple. - Check out a few shops for trinkets before getting in line to hop back on the ship.
  2. I've seen some posts of the new menus on Anthem and I'm disappointed to see that all the duck dishes (Duck L'Orange, Asian style roasted duck breast, Grilled duck breast, etc.) Budget cruise decisions?
  3. I've read of some people on other forums having trouble getting mini-bar charges removed that had been mysteriously added after the last day. For the most part folks have had those problems resolved by calling the 1-800 number
  4. I notice the Anthem of the Seas 22 June cruise to Bermuda coincides with the Americas Cup which is being hosted there. Is there anything put out by RCCL about shore excursions to the America's Cup Village? It should be about a mile or so from the Kings Wharf Dock.
  5. Aside from the wifi plan, do they offer a business center with wired terminals and printers anywhere? Kinda like most hotels have a few terminals for various things.
  6. I just saw it on a YouTube. Guy moving the claw to grab bundles of cash. Cool!
  7. Then, there is the science of the X-Treme Big Gulp mug which apparently hold twice the capacity of the average adult human stomach. And the notable trivia that - your stomach can process around 200-400 ml of liquid per hour. http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/01/the-7-11-double-big-gulp-holds-200-more-than-the-average-adult-humans-stomach/
  8. Go to 7-11 and get an Extreme Big Gulp mug. I took one with me to military training in Louisiana one hot summer shortly after 9/11 before they got crazy with TSA. I filled it with ice and it still had ice in it about 52 hours later.
  9. Looking on ebay, Anthem of the Seas is going for between $95 and $150 with $10 to $30 shipping USD. Some of the smaller RCCL ships start around $15. I did not know they had such things. Now I'm going to want one and buy a few for nephews!
  10. Do they really have that? If so, I wonder what happened to the machines on the cruise where the hurricane really rocked the boat and knocked things over!?
  11. Do all the RCCL cruises have bingo? Is it just prizes, no cash?
  12. For a 5 night cruise, expect 3 casual nights, 1 smart casual night, and 1 formal night. According to their chart: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/whatToKnow/whatToPack.do
  13. New to cruising here also. Doing Anthem in June. I was looking at the dining options. Am I reading it wrong? Or the only complimentary options on Anthem of the Seas can be summed up as pizza, hotdogs, or buffet? If don't want to stand in line and get served at a counter, I would have to reserve a specialty restaurant to sit down and look at a menu? the casino sounds interesting. Is it play for cash or prizes? Taxes on winnings?
  14. Are there any cooking workshops on Anthem of the Seas? Anything other than scrapbooking and jewelry making?
  15. along this thread... can GS suite guests invite other passengers (balcony and below) to join them at the Coastal Kitchen venue?
  16. Maybe she should save up a few years and buy a big boat!
  17. First time cruising. Scheduled for Anthem of the Seas Bermuda trip next summer. Have a balcony stateroom - not a suite. Would I be able to order room service from the Coastal Kitchen menu to be sent to my room? btw is Grande still part of the ship?
