  1. Maybe it was too early for my brain when I typed it, lol. I made dinner reservations for 2 nights of our Anthem cruise for 3 people. In the cruise planner it shows 9 reservations for dining, however when I click on the calendar they provide it shows the 2 nights reserved, not 3. For instance, for iFly I made reservations for 3 people and it shows 3 reservations. I made reservations for 1 show for 3 people and it shows 3 reservations. I was wondering why it would show 9 reservations for 2 night of dining with 3 people, I figured it would show 6. Hope that makes sense :)
  2. I went to the cruise planner for our upcoming Anthem cruise. So far I had made reservations for 2 nights/3 people so it should say I have 6 reservations under Dining, but it says 9. I've checked my reservations & calendar but both only show the 2 days of reservations. I've heard of reservations disappearing but not having additional ones added that can't be found. Doesn't matter to me but I'm curious...Has anyone seen this before and is this just a technical glitch as I suspect? Or maybe someone bought us a mystery dinner at Chops? (hey, a girl can dream, haha)
  3. Booked the Harmony Group Cruise 9/16/17 yesterday :)
  4. Even better news for him warming up to the idea then...I'm paying this cruise on my personal card so he will never see a bill :) Can't wait for the zipline at Labadee! We also had a great time at the Blue Hole in Jamaica and wanted to go back, and I've been booked 3x to Cozumel and never been able to go - I'm ready!!! 484 days to go...
  5. Well I may be looking for an alternate spouse when my husband Frank learns that I just booked us on this cruise in a JS! He loves cruising but doesn't like to book much in advance due to our business (I on the other hand love booking asap), so I don't know if he would agree to me booking this cruise now. I chose not to ask to find out. Instead I took Matt's advice of booking the cruise as a Birthday present, and since Frank doesn't like booking in advance I just won't tell him until 2 months before. :P Btw, the Birthday is mine, how can he say no to my Birthday cruise, even if the Birthday was 2 weeks before? HaHaHa! Seriously though, I know he won't have a problem when he learns. I figure I'll tell him the last night of our Anthem cruise next month...that is when he always is an easy mark for booking another cruise :D Very excited to go on this cruise! Our 1st time on an Oasis class, a JS cabin on the center hump, meeting all of you, Labadee (1 of my favorite places), and we have never been to Cozumel.
  6. Done - JS on the center of the hump on deck 9! I'm very excited already, thanks again...and yes, I'll see you there :D (heading over to profile settings to add Harmony to my upcoming cruises - WooHoo!)
  7. Oops, yes I meant an ocean view balcony. We have always been in the hump balcony cabins on past cruises, so would prefer one of those. I was also just looking at deck plans and availability for Junior Suites since I noticed some of those on the hump too. I grew up on boats and as far as I'm concerned the more I feel the ocean the better, but my DH would not agree with me at all so that is another reason we like the hump cabins, since they are more towards mid-ship. Bonus points for my feet loving the proximity to the stairs, lol. Thanks so much for your reply, it helps me make up my ever- indecisive mind! Now waiting for a return call from MEI so I can book a cabin on deck 10 (or 9 if a better location) :)
  8. Hi everyone, I am looking to book the Harmony Group Cruise (YAY!) and have been in touch with MEI. I haven't been on Oasis class and haven't done much research on them so wanted your thoughts on which deck would be best for a balcony cabin because I can't decide. We have a choice of deck 6 thru 12. We usually take the stairs, so like to be centrally located deck-wise. I love taking pictures off the balcony so don't want to be too high and have to rely on my zoom lens. I think I've narrowed it down to deck 8-10. - Any pros/cons? Thanks!
  9. Thanks Matt! Our cabin is not too far from the North Star so it should be fairly easy to just show up a bit before it opens up.
  10. I was wondering if anyone knew where I would go on the Anthem to reserve a time for the North Star? It is all booked up online for our cruise so I want to make reservations as soon as I get on the ship but have been told various things by people on our roll call a.) go to the North Star b.) go to visitor services c.) go to the Sea Plex. Anyone know where I need to go once I get on the ship to make reservations?
  11. Hi Kathy, I was ready and waiting to get a screenshot of you from the PTZtv cam but all I got was a ghost ship. So sorry you had to miss sail away, I would have felt & done the same. Happily you will have many more sail-aways in the future so save those signs :) I hesitated in posting these 2 ghost ship screenshots I took while trying to find you on the webcam, but look closely in the second one you were there in spirit! (wish I'd taken a larger screenshot)
  12. I was able to watch your scope late last night and wished I had caught it live, you & Emmy were having so much fun - I loved it! Will be watching you sail away and get a screenshot, have a great time :D
  13. I also like choices and take exactly the same amount of luggage. 1 suitcase each for my DH & I, 1 for our shoes, a garment bag, and a carry on. He thinks I take too much so I love your picture to be able to show him :P Have a safe drive & thanks for letting us all follow along.
  14. Can't wait to sail with you through the Periscopes, blogs & reviews :) Love your carryon bag!
  15. I was thinking of buying the lessons for my 18 yr old nephew on our upcoming Anthem cruise. He wants to try the flow rider but is nervous and does not do well in crowds, so I was thinking he may feel more comfortable if there weren't as many people waiting in line. Do you know how many people are typically involved in the lessons?
  16. Today was Anthem of the Sea's Inaugural visit to Bermuda! I can't wait for our June 11 Anthem trip, and to return to Bermuda (one of my very favorite places), so I was watching the PZtv Bermuda webcam. Not only is it the first time Anthem is Bermuda, I think she is also the largest ship to ever dock there. There were 2 tugs spraying water and it seemed like a festive time. Here is a screenshot of her arriving at the Dockyard. Only 39 days...I don't know what I'll do with myself between then & now, did I mention I can't wait? LOL http://portbermudawebcam.com/
  17. Thanks everyone, I'm feeling a bit better now :) Among other responsibilities at work (largest fisheries contractor in US) I am in charge of the social media & websites, and I also own a trucking & excavating company with my husband. In either business if we put something in writing we stand behind it no matter what. Price a job too low, we eat the difference. Print the wrong pay rate on a website, we pay that rate. Mistakes rarely, if ever happen because I like my $$ too much and don't want to listen to the repercussions (nor do I like giving then out). I knew about Royal's customer service issues and to keep calling back until you get the answer you like, lol. I should have guessed it would apply to their websites too. Just noticed that they have now removed that section from the website, wish they had done it sooner
  18. I feel bad about posting the info now that it looks like it is out of date and incorrect. I am very conscious about not posting rumors or other info that may not be correct. I only ever post items from 1st source sites and it never occurred to me that the info on their own site was not correct, especially since it had a beginning date of later this week, and the site was for their UK travel agents to get the word out. Talk about total confusion
  19. Thanks Matt! That is so strange, why post info with a specific start date and then not change it when there has been a change? I would be in so much trouble if I had something on my companies business site that was out of date I wouldn't even want to think about it. Nevermind the time taken up by answering phone calls or emails regarding the erroneous info. Feel free to take the post down since the info is not valid any longer. I guess I'll find out on June 11, and will report back about how the dinning goes if someone doesn't before that.
  20. Hi Wsig, The info I posted was for Anthem, from the UK website for all Royal's brands (see link). It does not mention rotation of the 4 restaurants as they had in Dynamic Dining, rather it states that Traditional will now be in two dining rooms and My Time in the other two, and that they would be serving the fleet menu in both which will rotate nightly. If that is the case then that would prohibit rotational dining between 4 different restaurants as they have had with Dynamic Dining. Perhaps the info the agent gave you was for ships other then Anthem, or the agent hadn't gotten the memo yet? It seems that there has been a lot of confusion & rumor, even among RCL employees, that is why I posted the info from an actual RCL website. Makes no difference to us at all, we only use the dining room for a meal or two, eating in other areas or specialty restaurants the other nights.
  21. I have seen some discussion on changes coming to Dynamic Dining on the Anthem and it looks like it is true. Our Anthem cruise is June 11 so it will be interesting to see what happens. As of right now we are still listed in DD Choice and my reservations are still listed in the cruise planner. It makes no difference to us either way as long as there is food to eat somewhere. I just saw the following posted on the UK website - http://www.cruisingpoweruk.co.uk/rci/news.php?utm_source=rci_cpus_signup&utm_medium=email&utm_content=rci_discover_more_intro_button&utm_campaign=rci_summer_sports CHANGES TO DINING ONBOARD ANTHEM OF THE SEAS®From 30 April 2016, dining onboard Anthem of the Seas® will change from the current Dynamic Dining model to the Royal Caribbean standard model of Traditional and My Time Dining for all guests, with: Traditional dining in Chic and The Grande My Time Dining in American Icon and Silk Fleet menu in all four main restaurants which will rotate nightly Additonal seating in all four main restaurants Solarium Bistro joining Coastal Kitchen as an exclusive Suite Class restaurant
  22. The door sign is awesome! I'd say you are very crafty ;) Our Roll Call is basically a dud, the slowest I've seen for a cruise I've booked. It could be because it is only a 5 day cruise but past 5 day cruises we have done have been more active so I don't know. Last week someone asked if there was a meet & mingle since it wasn't a 7 day cruise so I said we could do one for ourselves and I'd even put together a cabin crawl, slot pull or bar/poker crawl as I've done in the past but not one response. My DH will probably be happy about that LOL. Sounds like you have a great group for your roll call - what fun! Yes, I've bought the big Voom package so I can stream Periscope from the Anthem and hope to get all over the ship with scopes. I'll also have wifi on Bermuda (with hot spots now located all over the island supposedly) so can scope from there. I've heard conflicting reports on the wifi location at Horseshoe Bay Beach but I hope to be able to scope from there too. I'm @SeaSetter for anyone else who would like to follow. I always do a Photo review on CC (camera/picture addict) and can do one here too. I even just finally upgraded my old iPhone 4 to a 6S Plus to have a better video camera for scoping and to be able to read the comments without squinting :)
  23. What a fun thread, I've enjoyed reading all of your first cruising experiences and why you enjoy it. I have wanted to cruise since watching the Love Boat as a child, LOL. Years went by as we started a business and life happened. We had booked cruises on the Freedom several times but had to cancel due to family emergencies, each time a week before the cruise. Finally, our first actual cruise was on Explorer of the Seas to Bermuda from Cape Liberty in 2010. From the moment we drove to the terminal and saw the ship I was hooked. The crew was awesome, I loved the shows, and Bermuda was perfection to our eyes, it was everything I had hoped for and more! I love that it is fairly inclusive and that I don't have to travel to each destination by plane, just hang out in our floating hotel as we sail to the next location. It's nice that it is only a 4hr drive from our home in MA to the cruise port if we want to sail from Cape Liberty, as it is easier for me to find time to cruise without having to take extra days traveling to go to FL. It's hard running a trucking business and being away from home on a cruise for more then 7 days with the pricey & spotty internet connections we have had in the past, so I'm looking forward to trying out Voom - hoping it will allow us to work from the ship so we can try out a longer cruise :)
  24. Nice sign Kat! I'll be watching for you on the webcam and following your Periscopes. Know that we will be waving at you as you sail away. When you get back I'll only have 18 days to go, so following along with you (and everyone else's Periscopes) will definitely make the time go by quicker :) Love your excitement, my DH used to think I'm the only crazy cruise person, boy was he wrong, LOL! He loves the cruises but is so low key and wants to be surprised while I'm totally the opposite, enjoying the planning and dreaming as much as the cruise hahaha. We have such a slow roll call on CC for our upcoming June 11 Anthem cruise that I'm glad I've found you all here so I don't drive him totally crazy as I count down the days (only 44 more :D ).
