  1. My wife has back issues and can’t sit for the amount of time it takes to eat in the MDR. We like my time, my portions, my food selections., and leisure dress. One of the comedians commented on the Windjammer, saying you can have a potato dinner. Mashed, sweet, French fried, sliced, and baked. Sometimes you can start it off with baked potato soup.
  2. Here’s an unusual opportunity for you. This October, transatlantic from Florida to Lisbon, then 3 days later, transatlantic from Barcelona back to Florida.
  3. We have 6 cruises booked over the next 18 months that were booked a while ago. Looking at prices now, we are more selective on what we book. I’d love to go on The Icon, but find good deals on older, smaller ships. Repositioning cruises offer good value. Comparison shop; Costco travel, RCL website, travel agencies, and the web.
  4. Cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale with a 1 pm assigned boarding time. Would like to board earlier for lunch. Anyone have luck with an earlier arrival? Thanks
  5. It’s personal, I usually bring single dollar bills and tip the bartender, especially if he has to mix a drink rather than pour a beer.
  6. You’ll never see lines like Disney. Maybe a few minutes when the Windjammer opens. People got to eat!
  7. You can’t get lost on the ship. At each elevator stop there is a map of the floor, and on each stop is a map of the ship, all the floors and highlighted spots. There is also a video board to key in your cabin number and, like a GPS, it’ll draw a map to your room. After your board, take the time to explore the ship and get your bearings. The Oasis is a beautiful ship, enjoy her. There are more activities on the ship than you can imagine. On the top of this page, click on “cruise compass” and see the activities on prior cruises. If it’s in your budget, Atlantas is more than a water park, like a giant aquarium. Beware it is super expensive to go there, eat and drink there. Reserve all the highlighted shows they are spectacular. You can always leave during a break if it’s not to your liking. Even though the ship might be full, you won’t find many lines. If you do they move quick. Enjoy, she’s one of my favorite ships in the fleet.
  8. Uber around 10:45 might have you sitting in traffic. As much as I like to board early, suggest leaving hotel around 11:30 to allow the roads to open up.
  9. “Ran” into this problem last year. Streets near the port were closed waiting for the remaining runners to finish. Traffic was literally stopped. As I recall we were stopped from around 9:30 to 11. No getting around it.
  10. On my C&A free drinks, when I have a rum punch, after it’s made I ask for a floater and have never been charged. Helps to tip.
  11. good point. With the cruise in April 2025 and my cruise 2 weeks away, I’ll gamble on the price.
  12. RCL Diamond member leaving in 2 weeks on a RCL cruise. I’ve never sailed with Celebrity, but found a cruise I like with them in April 2025. Since I’m sailing with RCL soon, would it be a good idea to book the Celebrity cruise at The RCL Next Cruise desk while on board? Other than the reduced deposit, is there a big advantage? Better deal? Thanks
  13. Dinner in the MDR, desert in the Windjammer. Cuts dining time down to do other fun things
  14. Always pick my room, near the rear elevator. Easy down to dining room and since my wife has trouble walking, a quick shot off the elevator. Next time you cruise, get off the elevator, and walk down to the furthest room, and see if you want to do that several times each day.
  15. Got it, thanks. Double the price I paid
  16. Typo, it’s the 29th on the liberty
  17. Hello, we are sailing out of Cape Liberty on August 29th to Canada/New England on the liberty When I went on RCL website to check the price for a price difference, the cruise is not listed. Does that mean it’s sold out? Thanks
