CC is a cesspool of hate at times. I remember saying I split a drink with my 4 year old son when I had the drink package but he didn't and they made it that i was Hitler and I am the reason Royal Caribbean is gonna go out business. Shared a drink with a 4 YEAR OLD! They had an absolute fit. These boards are WAY better and its Royal only and we are pretty much Royal only.
HAHA! If people think Royal is going out of business because of a shared drink package then Royal better rethink the business model! It costs them so little for drinks! This post made me laugh because I can see people freaking out...

Hmm -- what if you don't prepay your auto grats, and you use the OBC for that? Is there anything in the fine print that says you can't use it for the auto gratuity?
I have used my points (turned in to OBC) to pay the auto charged gratuities.

I tried searching back boards, but did not find anything, so my apologies if this has been covered before (I bet it has!). I have roughly 100,000 RC credit card points that I have been saving for a long time. I need to use them before some start to expire soon. Anyway, does anyone have any good tricks for getting the most bang for your buck? For example, the cruise for 2 says it will cover an outside view room.. can we use that value towards a balcony or even a suite on the same sailing? Or should we stick to onboard credits, knowing we usually don't spend too much money on excursions or drinks.
Thanks in advance!
Mel
If you do research on the different options you can find that one that is worth the most (upgrade vs free cruise vs OBC). It takes time and work but if you are willing to do it you can maximize the value. FWIW i usually just get the OBC...

What’s different about the Suite Lounge on Freedom? We’re in a suite on it next July.
No windows...

It can’t be used to get on and off the ship. They’ll still ask for the actual Sea Pass Card
I kind of figured that with the security stuff, but for all the time spent on the boat I'll give it a try!

Disembarked from Symphony this morning. They changed the itinerary to keep us away from any adverse weather. So if I were to post photos, it would be very boring. Calm seas and sunny sky.
If I’m traveling during hurricane season in the Caribbean, I want to be on a cruise ship instead of a land vacation. We may not go where we planned, but it’s likely we will go somewhere where the weather is pleasant.
I kind of figured but you see the videos and hear the stories so maybe someone has a good story .

That was crazy! Never seen the pool deck like that unless it's raining! There was sunny skies there

Curious if anyone has video or pictures of the weather from Dorian while on a ship right now (or just getting back)?

You can purchase WOW bands on ships that have RFID sensors. I like them for unlocking stateroom doors, but not for making purchases or getting drinks. Some bartenders will ask you to take them off your wrist. Not very cool.
Well that sounds like a pain!!! Ill stick to pulling it out of my pocket I'm thinking. Thanks for the info! Out of curiosity what it a rough price on the WOW band?

Harmony has them.
Old style cards are swiped for unlocking doors, making purchases, and for access to gangways.
The RFID cards are tapped on the sensors to accomplish the same tasks as the old ones.
Cool! 10 cruises of the old cards will be interesting to try the new ones!
-
We have never been on oasis or quantum class ships (Have our first on Harmony in Jan 2021!). Do they all have RFID? and how does that work as opposed to the old type cards for stuff?
-
No it doesn't. It means many different things and it's hard to tell what. Could be as simple as their website sucks or that the itinerary is changing. If you really want to know info you can call royal and see what they say.

Oh not good! Just bought the digital only package. Maybe I can go to the photo place and ask to see what they are sending me?
you will be able to see it at the kiosk in the photo area on the boat. Swipe your sea pass card and it will show you all the photos you are getting
-
Yes every picture the people or person in the room the package is purchased under are in
-
We usually get it when we have a big group. Then we take lots of formal night pics and everything we can at the ports. It's nice to have all the pics of the big group.
-
In our experience the digital is just that. A link to download all the pictures they took as a digital file on your computer. The digital and print is the same for digital stuff but the print allows you to grab every picture they print and put on the walls in the photo area. You get one print per photo. They are all 8x10 i believe but could be wrong on that. With the digital you can print anywhere and any size (they give you a release) when you get home.

yikes..... I would think the staff playing in the pool area and scraping chairs.... putting them up would be noisy as well! I don't guess you happen to remember your cabin number ???
Sorry I do not remember it. If you go just forward several cabins from the stairwell to the "mouth jammer" you should be good i think.
-
I was told no and not allowed. Generally the people that have video are sponsored people with royal who are doing "promo" type stuff with them. Youtube vlogs, instagram stuff, etc...
-
DO NOT GO BELOW BUFFET!!!! We had a room below the "mouth jammer" and were woken up by 5am everyday from rolling carts. Under the pools has been fine for us FWIW.

Since this is the first hurricane in the Perfect Day era, I would say part of the reason they completely closed Coco Cay until Wednesday is to give them time to assess any damage from this (and future) hurricanes before guests arrive again.
Agreed! Big test for it about to come...

Awesome, Thanks! The GoPro 7 will get really good footage with the stabilization!

90 days out from embarkation day you can complete your online check in on the Royal website and enter it there. I personally would do it as soon as you are able within the 90 days before just to be sure. I think the deadline is only because they close the online check in several days before cruise and you can't enter or change anything. You can always just show it at the port but it is WAYYYYY easier to do everything ahead of time!!!!!

We had people combined that were close, or over, the limit. They did not weigh us ,or even ask our weight from our recollection. Here is a video that you can watch and see the size of everyone on the excursion. Skip through the sped up parts as its just the straight riding part. It will show you the entire ride so you know what to expect from the very start to the very end and show you everyone's size that was on it.

We hang stinky workout clothes and wet bathing suits on the chairs on the balcony. Never on railing since they will blow away
Junior Suite
in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Posted
We have been in several Jr suites. We would get to be in the suite line if the port had one for boarding, get to go in the suite lounge in the terminal before boarding, and double points on the cruise nights. Of course you get a bigger room and balcony than other rooms. You get robes to use on board. Not much more beyond that for a Jr Suite. You do NOT get the full suite benefits such as the concierge lounge and reserved seating. We usually only do it if the price is somewhat close to a balcony price.
