  1. i bpight the Key as i had already booked a Voom surf and stream for $15 a day.

My reasoning included 2x surf and stream as would each get a device ($30 p day) and 2 meals (chops lunch embarcation and special Bfast on debarcation.  At least an extra $40-$50 on a 5 day sailing pp.  So was hoping early embark and late debark would be worth it.

Will let you know if we got our $199 worth.  Given the 1/2 device package has gone down since i booked?

  2. Thanks for the perspective.

Sailing explorer in Nov once she is back on Caribbean duty.  Have bought the Key as had good things said about the wifi?  Was going to buy just the wifi but then there was a sale that included it on They Key.

And have the drinks package so wont be hurt by the price on board.  Will keep every receipt so i know if to buy package next time or not.

I assume now all 3 boys are educated to university level and above and fledged the nest i may be able to get back to cruising?  We can but hope.

  3. I have to say I take loads of vacations all over.  from driving the wine country in France, to traipsing around London, the beaches of Brittany and Gulf coast florida and visiting the Keys.  I used to live in Nassau and i hated when cruise ships came to town- too many people.  So just avoided town those days.

But then I tried cruising and i loved it- esp when cruising with my kids.  Sure it is different from land based vacations, but i find different good sometimes.  And the value is decent with all that is included.

  4. That could be it.  I never cruise in summer,  the cruise i mentioned was in Feb and the one i am going on soon is Nov.  I try to be in cooler places in summer, but this summer didnt work out so well.  Was in France (in beaujolais) and was 80-90F.  But could be worse, week before was 100, and 2 weeks after was over 100F.

Note to self, if crusing in summer dont pic a balcony?

Life is a box of chocs, never know what your gonna get ?

  5. I stayed in an Aft Balcony on Navigator.  It was splendid, I liked it better than my JS on Explorer.  It was so big it fit all 5 of us (my 3 kids were in an interior cabin just a few doors away).  We had breakfast there a few times, plus sail aways.  It was deck9 or 10, cant remember.

Wish I was in one this time, but i only booked 95 days out so there were none left.  So i'm on the Hump.
