  1. Any thoughts as to when these sailings will be released to book? I am wanting the Symphony to round out my Oasis class ships tour. My first Royal goal was all of the Oasis girls, Symphony is my elusive one. The Covid cancelations messed with my fantastic plan!
  2. This was in the Suite on the Adventure, the Oasis and the Odyssey. The scents are a bit on the strong side but the conditioner was heaven. June, November, December 2021.
  3. I believe the second leg of your B2B would be honored, when you step off #1 you have completed the criteria, it just takes a week to post. Don't let them deter you, kindly march up to that C & A desk and get your recognition, you have earned it. Good Luck, please let us know.
  4. We watched the video from our hotel room the evening before, we were at Hilton Marina sailing out of Port Everglades. We were able to check off our names and get credit for doing so, it was Friday night for our Saturday Odyssey sailing. I thought this was because we were so close to port, it was nice having an additional hurdle completed before embarkation.
  5. We are choosing to cruise and spend a lot of money during this time to do it. With so many moving parts, changing goal posts and the like my wish would be the cruise lines designate an individual to advocate for families during things like this. This person devoid emotion with knowledge and up to date protocols could come to a person's aid during something like this, clear communication would go a long way in the relationship between company and customer. I am still confused why the CDC is involved, I understand the Canadian powers that be.... I am routing for you guys, honestly hope this works out soon.
  6. @SpeedNoodles When we were on the Odyssey for Christmas week 2021 the ship was packed yet only a very few cabanas were in use. I would feel comfortable you would be able to get the location you choose, when you get that concierge email let them know. Even if not I know you need to check in the day of your cabana at the cabana desk, I'm sure they can place you where you want to be. (your name is printed on a little chalk board, quick erase) I agree with you about the location, makes a huge difference. I only walked the track but felt like I was encroaching on the people in those cabanas and even laying out on the chairs; it was weirdly tight. I was not a big fan of that track, so much going on around as it is sandwiched in, almost like an after thought.
  7. I officially turned diamond on my last sailing after night one, the loyalty desk stood firm I was not to be awarded diamond until stepping off the ship...I just stared longingly outside the diamond lounge, lol. It was an 8 night sailing too, just torture me why don't you?
  8. April 8, 2021 contracted our pool and thanks to @melmar02 I knew what to expect. 8 months later we have made some headway, here is what we started with and I will post the finished pool if and when it ever happens. Back orders and covid staffing issues are given as the main culprits..... we purchased this home seeing the potential. Lots of work still needs to be done. But that yard. Oh my word, horrendous!
  9. @Ampurp85 I love my family BUT I would LOVE a solo sailing, OMG pure bliss. I am following your adventures, I was so happy the testing worked out. Living vicariously through you. One sailing that's all I ask, sometimes like my last birthday Mr. Cabash asks, what do you want to do? Cruise please? Cabash is like another cruise? Don't you think we sail enough? Who said we? Then he pouts and walks off shaking his head, " I can't believe you would go without me" um, yes, yes I would! Enjoy. Can't wait to read about your solo star class adventure.
  10. Can you stay overnight in Seattle and take out the early flight the next day? That way you can relax regarding this whole situation. Leisurely enjoy disembarkation day with your friends and then converge on the airport the following morning after a good nights rest. If not I would keep my luggage and do the express walk off first off the morning you are to debark. I have never stayed Star class but I do lot's of research for the day I am able to and I believe the Genie services are for the Star class family only, but if you do the express walk off you can be off and waiting for them. But I agree with your husband, so many moving parts and possibly missing your flight would just take the joy out of your relaxing vacation.
  11. @PPPJJ-GCVAB Your post saddened my heart, so much out of your control. If I were you (easy for me because this isn't my experience) but trying to minimize the "losses" so to speak, everyone who can go this time and feels comfortable to do so & can actually sail within the protocols does so. Make the most out of that, then what FCC's are left? Try to get them applied to who is going or better yet refunded due to the vax rules in place etc. Plan an even more special trip for you and the grandchildren, rent a whole house on the beach in Florida, VRBO? Something like that? Yes your heart breaks but by setting this positive example for these kiddos who are watching and listening they will see by your actions lemonade can be made from lemons. I wish for you and yours an outcome that works for you all. Good Luck whatever you decide to do!
  12. When in March? My sister is going March 13th and I am unsure about the expiration situation BUT then I read @SpeedNoodlesordeal. The lines right now everywhere are long, this home one seems the way to go, but I am torn does she order it now or later & risk not getting it in time?
  13. Air2Sea put us on Bahamas Air same day, I thought okay they say it's fine and its 50 minutes in the summer! NO, don't do it. How bad could a non stop from Orlando to Bahamas be? BAD! Come in at midnight the evening before. Especially with the cold weather right now and everything else, including air crew shortages. Our 50 minute flight turned into a 5 hour ordeal, long story short we were the last people on board, and if not for Air2Sea I'm not sure they would have waited because at that time once we landed we had to still check in and test at the hotel before we were allowed to board. I wouldn't wish that out of control sinking feeling on anyone. Heed our advice get there as soon as you can. Have a great sailing!
  14. After our last experience at Coco Cay I am considering a Beach Bed. We have purchased cabanas at the Oasis pool and the Waterpark and while very enjoyable not feeling spending $$ on them again. Looking at the map I can't figure out which area is just a little more tucked away, just a bit more quiet. First time getting a Beach bed especially with more then one ship I want a tiny area to call our own for the day. Will be in 1804 on the Mariner as we were able to make this sailing work even with school, will the concierge reach out before sailing? Can we request a bed location? If you have done one of these would you have a recommended bed/location? Can our Diamond drink allotment be used on the island? Thanks everyone!
  15. Odyssey of the Seas has it in the sports plex we just sailed her December 2021. The times were always listed on the Cruise Compass or within the app. Seemed very popular, it was a very nice space and set up.
  16. Right now it's not IF it's how many. The protocols are keeping it in check but I feel so strongly the crew should be afforded a bit more living space for the foreseeable future. Just be ready to roll with the ever changing protocols and you can re visit when it gets a little closer, thank goodness for CWC. Here's wishing you a great sailing.
  17. New idea, my stateroom attendant was so hard working. Day 2 we asked for extra towels for our 2 bedroom grand and declined turn down service for the week. We kept a neat room and he out did himself with animals and such during the first cleaning of the day, we wanted him to enjoy a tiny bit of down time on us. We used the magnet on the door to tell him we were inside sleeping off the fun even when we weren't there. We kept the cabin orderly so even his daily pass would not be that taxing, I tried the line dancing class in that mask and couldn't breathe, I don't know how they do the entire cabin like that. An amazing young man. A little extra cash in the beginning as well, wanted him to be able to know it was all good.
  18. @Ray I'm just off the Odyssey and Oasis and the crew members we spoke to were not allowed off the ship for months. This was our experience and we sailed the two ships maybe it was just those ships, thanks for being so kind and correcting me. Maybe it is just RC ships I've sailed on.
  19. The crew is not allowed off of the ship yet they are getting and passing on the virus. Maybe it's time to let them live in the interior guest cabins for a bit. Give them additional space instead of living in such close quarters. Also, this two day test scenario may need to be tightened up. We get ours (tests) at our local "doc in the box" emergent care medical facility. While the testing is precise and above board (pun intended) when I received our test results I was shocked. While the document contained all of the requested criteria with the Doctors signature, the document looked like something I could have created on my own computer. Does this happen? There is no uniform form that I know of so what are the personnel really looking at, is it a true test result? That got me to thinking, are people doing this? I am fully aware that after my negative test the onus is on me to isolate from others and be extra careful so as not to expose myself within the 48hrs before sailing, does everyone do this? We bring food and after I Clorox wash down the hotel room we stay in the room until we leave to check for our ship. My goal is to enjoy my sailing to the best of my ability all while keeping the crew safe. Granted not foolproof but we feel good about being a bit extra by this point, we want to sail..... And as an aside, I think the above scenarios tightened up should relieve the "stigma" of unvaxed kiddos in my humble and honest opinion they are not the problem. And I feel safer on a sailing then at a land based vacation...
  20. Such sad news but you did the right thing. When we couldn't leave the ship on the Odyssey a few weeks ago it was sad. While we totally made the most of it, given your same scenario and knowing as well as experiencing looking at Aruba from... well our balcony, we would have made the same decision. Here's hoping the crews get and stay healthy, fingers crossed we get through this sooner rather than later. (The Odyssey was great mind you but missing the shows in addition to seeing less and less crew....we were ready to disembark.
  21. This does not surprise me at all. The Holiday sailing capacity issue I feel is directly responsible for this. Everyday on the Odyssey more and more crew were missing. They need this pause to get the crew healthy again, just my humble opinion. Crew is tested weekly we were told with or without symptoms. The numbers climbed while we were on board...and then the contact tracing. I hope they extend CWC now too!
  22. Our room attendant carried them in his cart as well.
  23. Mine were all screwed up and I could not understand as their numbers didn't match with mine. I went to their Twitter messaging area and asked them to clarify my FCC's I gave our names and crown and anchor numbers, it took a few days but they sent me the FCC numbers with the amounts tethered. I did a screen shot to keep the integrity of the communication in anticipation of any "problems" moving forward. FCC is an odd thing with Royal & honestly given the choice moving forward I will never ask for FCC again. Good Luck, but do ask as I had a great many cancellations and then I was armed with every FCC credited to us.
  24. Take it from me addicted to Royal Up bidding and 0-12. The earliest I received the unsuccessful bid email was 1800 the evening before sailing. My last two sailings I received it while dining in Coastal Kitchen for the filet dinner. Place the bid and then TRY to put it out of your mind, hard but it will drive you batty if not. I was checking for status changes every day. It's fun, good luck!
  25. I have an amazing cabin on the Mariner June 13, 2022 for a 5 night sailing to Royals private Islands with some sea days. My daughter informed us she wants to take a class over the summer on campus, she hates on line. Clearly, the class takes priority at this point so I was going to cancel CWC since I booked it last year, I misunderstood the parameters. It's a $300.00 deposit I was just going to put towards our Thanksgiving sailing (non refundable of course) I know no one knows and has a crystal ball BUT would anyone care to surmise? Did you notice when the extensions of CWC occurred in the month? I am leaving it alone until final payment which I believe is 30 days prior, or is it? Yikes, I apologize as I never really take copious notes on these things because canceling from me is just not in my nature. I do know I can't lift & shift, I may be making a $300.00 donation to Royal...I just wish they would give it to their hard working crew. Thanks for stopping by to read my tale of woe.
