  1. My plan this sailing, lounge and balcony. I thought only 4 nights, I'm going to give this location a try. While we loved the beach club at Coco Cay this price is a hard no. We are going to just wing it this trip on Coco cay, the prices are super high trying to take advantage of the euphoria of the first sailing. We paid enough for the cabin so I feel good just "roughing it"
  2. Never did an inaugural before so looking forward to this special sailing. Only 4 nights so nothing extra. We will enjoy the newness of the ship. No excursions and no UDP. First time ever in a grand suite!
  3. @SMOKEY0202 witch with evil eyes, lol. I know her, my kiddo told me there is nothing scarier! Apparently she even told some friends about THE LOOK! Really? I am so sorry this is your experience. It's the bad luck of the draw. @ZBrady is having the time of their lives, so happy for them if not a tiny bit jealous. We were the first off the ship debark morning, I couldn't get off fast enough. I've put that one away in the dark recess of my scary mind and will be more particular in choosing my date in the future. I'm so sorry for your experience. I support the etiquette 101 class. Funny you mention the casino, there was a couple with their little one at the Vue bar propped on the stool. My kiddo said " mom that's not cool" I am sending you positive vibes, deep breaths.... Note: I mentioned earlier I heard from someone on Adventure of the seas, the passengers behavior was abysmal as well.
  4. @ZBrady I felt the same way about Voices, but I walked out saying wow, I really enjoyed that! I hope you love it! It was simple yet entertaining at the same time. For Effectors 2 take @AshleyDillo advice and sit on deck 4 not up top deck 5. We did both and it was like a different show following her direction. Another, wow!
  5. @Ampurp85 funny you mentioned the value. I didnt find the value of Star, and now being D+ the value of Sky with the prices being Sky high is getting hard to stomach. The suite product across the fleet is more and more diluted. It kind of stung knowing what I paid vs the neighborhood that didn't exist. On top of that the sold out ship with 4000+ newbies, yikes! I hear you @Ampurp85 .
  6. @SMOKEY0202 okay this is crazy, when we were at Nachi Cocom I met a family there who was sailing the Adventure. She stated nearly word for word as you did. But her point was they had taken over the Solarium and she said the blue tooth loud music was taking over public spaces and she would never sail this time of year again. I'm happy people have warmed to the cruise vacation, but maybe there should be a first timers class, lol. @OCSC Mike the heat is bad, yes you should see my tiny lawn mowing dress, watch out if I bend over, yikes!!!! The humidity is what does me in, so this time of year I'm the bad neighbor. 0730 is the okay time to start (noise) so i usually mow as soon as it hits 0730 or wait until the sun is going down after dinner. Cold spring water very close by. Our little gated community of I think 36 homes most everyone besides us are snow birds so they are not here anyway! My mowing dress gets me thumbs up from the trash collectors when they come by early. When we see them we usually get them some cold spring water also. On a positive note they take whatever I place in the trash, win, win, win.....
  7. @ZBrady I agree 100% with @Xaa. You have an amazing family, I love the shirts. We are older parents I had kiddo in my 40's so not much family. I am always in awe of happy extended families living their best life together. I'm excited for you, I know you will have an amazing sailing, thank you so much for sharing! Oh and I for sure agree with @Ampurp85 and @asquared17 your daughter makes me smile, she is adorable! Enjoy, enjoy!!
  8. @Xaa I read that post twice, wow! I am humbled by the high praise. I sometimes feel the ugly emotions for sure, but tell myself to temper them as when I'm sour it ruins it for my family. Cabash feels bad when I'm upset, I don't want him to. I like to cut the grass, I push the mower just under a quarter acre. For me it provides a meditation like no other. I review my blessings and give thanks for my breath, for my heart pumping, for waking up in the morning. Cabash gets to do the pool duties and spray for bugs (we have big ones in Florida!, lol) I announced this morning from hence forth he will be addressed as our household Genie, that gave my kiddo a chuckle. Like I said I know this is a fan site & I felt some "push back" so then I felt maybe I was the problem, I am appreciative of all the feedback I've received to the contrary. It seems simple, but comes off snotty sometimes but I paid for a certain product, I would like to receive what was promised. And yes, it is upsetting when I can't get a chair in the shade in the little pool because extended family staying elsewhere are taking my tiny amenity. I felt mentioning this was warranted, I am not a suite snob per say but, yes I cut my huge lawn, do my own hair most of the time, paint my own nails except on special occasions when I want the gel & all that savings gets squirreled away to purchase my next adventure. It's not what I earn it's what I spend, I choose to spend on a more elevated experience, it gives me joy. We usually walked down the stairs from 18 but if we were going way down we would take the lift. It was always packed with people riding up from the WJ to go down & the comments were not very kind about "the snobs stay up there" Didn't they see we just boarded? Thank you again for your very kind words and your thoughts are warm & kind, I am so appreciative. Have an amazing 4th!
  9. On a more positive note, we visited the Solarium on Costa Maya day when the suite sun deck was being chair hogged by who knows ??? A picture of Wonderland and the Wonder model. Random, for such a large ship the Arcade was super small.
  10. @asquared17 nope, take the elevator up to 18 and the doors on both sides are propped open 2 seperate ways to enter, the doors were open all week. A few of us would close them but even more opened them. It was the if you can find it you can use it neighborhood * just to clarify the doors are propped open to the hallways that have cabins located within, once you are in the hallway it's a few more steps to the sliding suite sun deck, no sea pass needed.
  11. This type of thing occurred every day this past week. The Suite sun deck as well as the suite lounge. When Kenny the concierge was there he would rather stealthily make his way to the area and quietly, gently yet firmly have them leave. The teen area with the selfie wall was more secure. We couldn't get up there to take a picture until kiddo opened the gate with her key card. There were at least in my humble estimation 1/3 people in the Suites amenities area that didn't pay the upcharge to be there. Once the area had been fully discovered it was an open house type situation. It was just frustrating.
  12. Look for a cabin review video of the category you have booked. This way you can visualize what you are going to have.
  13. Oh have I got something good to report, @Lovetocruise2002 and @asquared17. Our very last night, yes actually last night lone behold a clear glass bottle of EVIAN was pulled out of the wine bucket. I was elated, this way.... my water!!! I was poured one glass and as I was having some last night red yummy sangria with my egg fried rice dish, super tiny BTW they tried to take it away, out of the wine bucket before I said oh no, give me some clean glasses. I drained it (like the other) and took them to the show and my cabin to enjoy. I'm sure it was for a Star family who was scheduled to sit at an adjoining table. So they have it!!!! They hide it, but I'm to stealthy for them. Ah, I said that's all me. I asked for just one bottle to take with me, ahem a resounding no! It did seem the Star suites were at maximum capacity and extended family in other cabins so there were a few large 9 and 10 tops set. Keep the water package, if it's the disgusting filtered water just cancel, I did this. It was refunded to my on board account. Easy, peasy.....
  14. A few thoughts, will be adding some pics later that are in Cabash phone. First I know this is a fan site, so I do apologize if I offended or came across as whiny. I was just trying to report our true experience. It was very apparent when I started to report some of the short comings many, many dropped off. I think no more blogging in the future. Be that as it may I had some thoughts as I just mowed my lawn, yes I'm home. Debark was stellar, we had signed up for 0700 with Kenny, but last night he asked if we would like earlier, um yes please! 0630 we hit the lounge and he expressed us to Noreena who was standing by on 5, she walked us to the gangway where there was...ready? A separate line off for Pinnacles, Suite Guests and Keys. We were the first suite guests off I believe. Out of the parking garage by 0645 home by 0840. I can't say enough about how these two concierges worked in unison and complemented each other so well. When I was asked about I did offer how the teens area is more secure then the suite sun deck OR the "if you can find it you can use it deck" and of course the cluster that was in fact embarkation. Cabash went out early this morning 0345hrs or so (he loves to watch the ship dock) & he said there were teens in the hot tub and "sleeping together" on the round day bed nearest the ocean port side, lol! Even the last morning, they must have just met, taheeheehee. One has to separate what Royal can control and what it can't. @Geezer Of The Seas had a great point at what number is there just too many passengers for the sailing to not be enjoyable. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Cabash always reminds me it's a business and business are there to make money. The ship & artwork are beautiful. The elevators for 6936 passengers, many with baby carriages, walkers and scooters as well as 4323 first timers inadequate. Lesser numbers I'm sure would be absolutely fine. One can never fault the Company for other passengers lack of manners OR as I think just ignorance in the nuances of sailing with others. I strongly feel most are not purposeful that just don't know.....Except, I would think it is common sense when you see someone in a wheelchair you hold the elevator door for them, don't rush around him with your party so he has to wait some more. Ugh, that one burned my butt! I actually saw this once so I stayed with him and when that elevator arrived I blocked it with my entire body & called him over to get on, then I went on my way. That still get's my goat!! OMG the water situation was comical. I tried what @asquared17 did, I could not get spring water from the restaurants. Even #CK they would try to pour the ice water and then I would ask for the bottle (sitting right there in the wine bucket) & they would come back with the Tru filtered water ALL WEEK, we took turns guessing how long it would take to get my spring water ( I like it tepid when I eat, no ice) they only gave it to me and then ran and hid the bottle, it was wild. I had the audacity to ask to bring the bottle that was opened for me back to my cabin, NO! Not allowed to leave the restaurant...okay may I please have a few clean glasses? I drained the bottle into my glasses and we brought them back to the cabin, things that make you go hummmmm. Maybe provisioning was short our week. So these were my grass mowing thoughts I may have a bit more of a wrap up later today. I'm looking forward to all you guys trips reports moving forward I hope I took the crazies off with me and your sailings are indeed amazing. Cheers to all who stuck around, thanks for joining us. Take it away @ZBrady I'm excited to follow along... Oh how I missed you!!!!
  15. Took a minute today, no blogging and very few pictures. It was a great day! Early morning walk with cabash and skipped breakfast as well. I don't know why but kiddo wanted JR'S for lunch, why, why why? She works at Culver's, not my favorite but she doesn't ask for much. We got our Diamond photos and attended a dance show at 1200, there's no business like show business. Heather's Dance troupe from Georgia. The dancing was great, energetic and entertaining. The costumes were very appropriate and it was a very nice performance. Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop and lots of tumbling. JR'S was packed no seats open but some how some way we walked up to the podium as a family was leaving from inside so we had lunch around 1300hrs. The concierges are super on this ship I "wonder" if they will continue as a team, they are marvelous. Kenny asked how it was so I brought up the most important issues for me and the Sky class product. I said if the perks of sky are not afforded on the Wonder like at embarkation it should be noted. We also spoke about how the suite deck was not exclusive at all. Lone behold when I brought up the constant door bell ringing he said security was called when someone caught the kids. So in a nutshell, I'm pretty sure moving forward things will be good. Kenny was very understanding and I felt like he was going to take care to make sure the suite product stays in tact. Even today the suite deck as not secured in any way had lots of people enjoying the space, very few from the actual suite neighborhood. Dinner was good, portions are noticeably smaller which I like. Food was tasty as always. We are packed and meeting Kenny at 0630 for self debarkation. Oh, we saw Effectors 2 again as I had difficulty enjoying it last night. People in rows infront of us were jumping beans, up and down all show. Then there was the loud audio, a mixture of an aqua net/ all spice smell and of course flatulence that made for a show I couldn't enjoy. Kenny got us in again tonight and we sat in the front row, wow did we walk away saying what a great show! Elevators should detect how much weight is in there and skip opening on every floor, sardine can elevators were not much fun. We took the stairs when possible. A bulk of the day we sat on the balcony and read our books, it was glorious. We loved our server, so attentive. He worked on the Symphony for 10 years! That's all for now. I am ready to go home.
  16. @Lovetocruise2002 It's funny yes I think I mentioned before 1700 kids. But kids are kids and it's the adults that are really trifling (credit to @Ampurp85 ) they should know better and set a good example but it's a free for all. Over 4,000 first timers is going to impact. Oh well, this one is in the books. We are doing early walk off on Sunday, we are just ready to be home. Hooked is an excellent idea, good choice. I know you're going to have a great time, this was just an off week. I'm looking forward to a happy more positive experience for you. Well good night, going to get up early and make it a great sea day! Saw Effectors 2 tonight, that's it...that's my post. Technical was awe inspiring.
  17. I truly believe it's the Sumner timing. I know in my heart this ship is reeling this week, I've heard grumbling about cruisers who are giving crew a hard time, they aren't managing expectations. Tonight I forgot was lobster night. We have had the same reservation, the same table and the same waiter all week. Tonight we arrived on time (5 minutes early) the restaurant was packed, it looked like all 14 pinnacles and people we never saw before. "Our" table was occupied and we were asked to wait in the lounge. I was happy that it was crowded for them but surprised it was so crowded so early. The head waiter Vinay apologized profusely, so did the host. We said no problem. We can sit anywhere, but we really like our waiter can we stay with him? A resounding yes. @Lovetocruise2002 please take a picture of the practically non existent lobster. I can't believe I forgot!!! Baked Alaska was good. Still happy with this CK experience, Shereen the host is also lovely. Our server is so good so attentive. He is getting the best review! I'm so bad at this, I still can't believe I forgot to photograph the silly lobster, it was so small it was sad.
  18. @OCSC Mike yes! Myself and my neighbor agreed to always close them and we do, but it's fruitless they are always propped back open. Like I said, it's the date late in June, it's all the newbies, and finally its cruise life. I think some of the youngins are bored. If their parents didn't purchase the internet by night 5 day 6 they are loosing it! LOL! One of my door magnets was on the floor so I removed them all. Not sure if it would disappear and they are special, so I just packed them. My female intuition tells me this is just a comedy of errors. Bad week? New cruisers? Pent up vacation energy? All of the above....
  19. Oh no I forgot to mention...I know it's late in the the week, door bell ditching has started. My neighbor and I met in the hallway late last night and she confirmed, hahahaha...cruise life!
  20. Mid day report. Early on waterslides and Solarium. I'm thinking maybe on port days they open house the suite sun deck? Not sure, I had a spot to chill but our family and maybe 2 others were suite guests. The rest who of course chair hogged the really good chairs in pool, of course had regular sea pass cards. Tons of teens brought food up from else where and enjoyed the space. Maybe it is a thing that is normal in the summer. They never close our suite hallway doors so as the week marches on lots of people in the space. I'm thinking maybe it is sanctioned to lure people to purchase suites? Who knows, just be aware while it is beautiful it is not an exclusive space. The pool deck is a dirty nightmare today, I felt bad for the staff, they just can't keep up. There is garbage everywhere and people everywhere, I can't. I'm really glad I could just walk on through. C&A meet and greet was fantastic. 45 minutes of q&a with the entertainment Captains in the music hall. Air conditioning and an intimate setting, very cool. Hosted by the cruise director. They wrapped it up after someone who announced sorry I'm late I just got back onboard was screaming incoherently to them. It was then they said their goodbyes. Very nice day, just a lot of people. Lobster night tonight. Oh, el Loco Fresh we had a snack, very good. Very crowded so we grabbed some grub and ate at the table in our cabin. Onboard time from Costa Maya was 1430 so everyone who left was back on the ship early. I was surprised at how very fresh everything was. Looking forward to a nice evening, CK and the Effectors 2
  21. @DDaley that is amazing. When she purchased the shirt i was with her, i was like what the heck is that, picture me frantically looking them up to make sure it wasn't some satanic dark genre! She loves to lift weights to them. I like 70's and below as well as country music. She IS Cabash! Sometimes.....
  22. @Ampurp85 my sentiments exactly to your entire post. I think it is for the month of June. The avocado toast is tasty, a little flat but at least on not to salty. @WAAAYTOOO yes its the flat bread, it was incredible. This CK food is really good. I did blot some of the oil off but it was the best Ive had on any ship.
  23. Would someone help me please? The Cullen ducking is the best I've encountered, their hiding places are refreshing. We are not on FB I put the pics on Instagram, ( my account, only ducks!) But they request the duck area on FB. I want them to know I found 4 in total, one I left and 2 I took and re hid. I am keeping one and will copy their efforts for our graduation cruise next year. Congratulations Cullen family. June 7, 2024 on the Adventure. Everyone's invited!!!
