  1. Thank-you! Good to know! I am less interested in swimming, and more interested in a nap with a view!! ?
  2. Curious: I assume that chairs by the pool are the most coveted and populated. What about chairs that are on deck not near the pools, but more to view the sea? Are those often all taken as well? (newbie here!). TIA.
  3. That is a good idea. We did like the idea of seeing the Flamingos, so weren't sure how to do that without an "excursion".
  4. That is our sailing too!! See you then! ??
  5. We will be on FOS in May 2020 and doing the ABC islands, plus St. Marteen. Thinking of doing excursions on Aruba (ATV tour) and St. Marteen (Speedboat tour) for sure. Any thoughts on not booking anything for Bonaire and just finding non-excursion activities to do on our own? In other words, would that be a good island to not formally plan anything for? Think we will do the same for Curacao.
  6. Thanks for this!! We were wondering the same about this excursion. Sounds like a win!
  7. Yeah, that would have been concerning! I hope you were careful with your luggage when you got home!
  8. Did you end up back in that room? I am not sure I could have done that!!
  9. Yes, that is a good proactive feature, as long as they wash it each time! And, I always check the mattress seams.....with a flashlight.....my kids think I am nuts. ?
  10. Yikes, that would have FREAKED me out!! But, so glad to hear they took it seriously.
  11. I hate to even ask this question, but has anyone ever had a problem with a room not being clean or having.......well, the nightmare of all traveling nightmares....bedbugs? I am super paranoid after a bad experience at a high end hotel 5 years ago. It has taught me to meticulously check the beds of any hotel prior to sleeping in them. I worry about the massive turnover of people each week on a cruise, and the lack of the ship to truly have a deep clean (with them turning over a new guest list each and ever week). And, what would they do if you did find something? Not like you could change cabins when they are at capacity. Just random thoughts, 7 month out for a first time cruiser!
  12. @AshleyDillo, what is the Freedom Group Cruise?
  13. @tldslick willing to share about any other experiences you had on this itinerary? Especially interested in Curacao.
  14. We don't cruise until May 2020, and there are almost 100 excursions already listed! I think I would call them if I were you.
  15. Thank-you everyone! You answered my question and so much more! I love these forums! ?
  16. I am SURE this is a really dumb question, but, is it possible to use airline miles with Air-to-Sea? So, if the tickets RC purchases are from American (for example), I don't suppose I can use miles I have for reduced fares? Obviously, I know I can just book my own flights and access my miles. However, if i want the Air to Sea protection of a missed departure etc., I am guessing I can't combine the two? TIA for a really silly question!
  17. That is great! Thanks! We may have found our breakfast location!
  18. Thanks! So, I know the menu is more limited than the WJ, but did it have basics like eggs and bacon?
  19. Anyone know if this is true on Freedom of the Seas as well?
  20. I am interested in hearing about your experience. We have a trip booked for May 2020 and used a travel agent in our town. She has been ok. I think she locked us in to the best rate, but she doesn't seem proactive with anything. She responds quickly when I reach out to her with questions, or with "we need to get on booking flights", but so far she hasn't initiated anything. She also assigned us a cabin and dining time without any input on our end, which caused me to have to ask her to change both. She did that just fine, but it could have been avoided had she asked our preference to begin with. She also didn't get us any OBC, which I hear is sometimes the advantage of using a travel agent. So, all that to say, it is fine for this cruise, but for our next we will probably go with a different agent or just book ourselves.
  21. This original thread is quite old, but does anyone know if JR still serves breakfast without the up-charge (omelettes?)?
