As you can see from the earlier post. We all met up on the boardwalk while we finished our portion of the muster drill. We all headed to our stateroom to let our friends drop their bags etc and to let them see the room. They were quite impressed. The boarding process for them has “ruined” gen pop sailing for them. Their part cruise was a boardwalk balcony on Wonder. They aren’t sure if they can go back.
We then headed off to explore the ship together. The kids were registered for adventure ocean, and we showed them the other suites areas. 
We also started to make use of our beverage package and treated our friends to some drinks courtesy of our diamond vouchers. 
 
While relaxing in the suite lounge, Dan remarked that he was really impressed by the response from the concierges. When he got the email, he responded with their dinner reservation and show requests which were all immediately taken care of. I think we have officially inducted new members into the suite snob club🤣

I mentioned to the bartender that we were star class, but she just looked at me like I was an idiot…..so I had to pay for these.

Exactly! 

Yes! So my new rule for pre-cruise flights after March 2022 was to take the very first possible flight out of DTW. Then the ATL fiasco happened in July 2023, and my new rule is: take first flight out of DTW, and fly in two days early whenever possible. I am really liking that extra day buffer.

This was me...until March 2022....lol
My whole family, except me, are not morning people. However, ever since that March 2022 fiasco (still traumatized from that), I told them that we are no longer going by what is "convenient for all". We are taking the first flight possible out of DTW on the day of travel. If that means we have to roll off our driveway at 4:30am then so be it. They are all grumbling but at least it gives us more time to drive or make other arrangements if you know what hits the fan.
I am kicking myself because for our cruise in 3 weeks, it was considerably cheaper to take the afternoon flight to MIA from DTW. I booked it thinking I would move it to the early 8:30am flight before final payment. Then, things got crazy in December (when it was final payment time) with my Dad and I forgot to move it. Anyhow, now I am praying that doesn't come back to bite me in 3 weeks. The freeloaders and Hubby are happy though.

Genie stuff.
We got our survey on 12/22 so about the 60 day mark. I have a word document saved, so I make the necessary edits and copy and paste. 
Both @Jax and @Yesiamthere had great Genies with Berty and MJ respectively I was really excited knowing that the odds were in our favor for a great genie experience.
at 28 days to go, I got the email that we have Berty. We had some initial emails giving the overview of the benefits etc, and mini bar requests, and then he said he would reach out closer to the cruise. He got back to us Sunday with our initial dining and show schedule. He looks like he will be very fun to work with, so we are super excited. 

This is me too. I always tell Hubby, even without the perks, I would like the space. We know what type of cruisers we are. We spend time in our cabins. That makes it more worth it to us. 

For convenience, we are just going to park at the port. You can reserve a spot ahead of time so it's already paid for, and for us, not having to deal with competing with 6000 other people trying to Uber someplace its money well spent. The hotel we are staying at doesn't offer cruise parking either. 
 
I normally don't wish people to get sick just before a cruise.....but........🤣
 
Your blog on Harmony in the SLS with Aricelli (sp?) absolutely made us book our first star class room.
 
I will give the aqua show the benefit of the doubt. 
Portside and playmakers will be missed!
I could stay with the "poors" and be happy....maybe....but for The Boss, the room is also a big part of the destination for her. She loves the bigger spaces and the perks, so it's sky class and up for us. We aren't big casino people so I'm going to be creating my own shenanigans on this cruise.......at the expense of my coworker......this is going to be fun!!

I am really looking forward to this show. We first stumbled upon these guys in 2016 on Allure and have not been lucky enough to catch them since then. Can’t wait! 

This might be my new favourite drink on this ship!! 

The conversation went like this at dinner last night: 
Hubby: What do you want to do in St. Kitts tomorrow? 
Me: Well, we didn’t book an excursion but there is an Effy store right outside the pier. We could get off and walk around. It’s up to you.
 Hubby: There is a stand up FlowRider session at 8am and mixed wave after that until 11am.  

And you all know how that worked out 😂

Day 4 - St. Kitts
We are in St. Kitts today. I don’t think that we are leaving the ship 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dinner CK Night 3
Again, standard Night 3 menu with one need app addition, Lobster meatball. We ordered one to share for research purposes; it was not to my liking, but there are those who would probably like this. Hubby said it was ok.

The little things that matter to me. Last night in the SL, I asked Joel (a bartender there) if he could make a Lavender Martini. He said they did not have the syrup. So after some back and forth, and lots of laughs, he made me some unknown martini of his own creation. It was pretty good, and I called it Joel’s martini. Today, after my crepe and Hibiscus Tea from Rye & Bean, I stopped by the SL to grab a bottle of water. Joel was there, he passed over a bottle of water, and then proceeded to show me a brand new bottle of lavender syrup. He said it’s for when I return later tonight. These are the little things, that go a long way with me. ❤️

The FlowRider’s widow club is real. I did not really believe my friend when he first welcomed me to the club but I get it now 😂

Hubby is back at the FlowRider again. I venture back to the Aquadome to grab a crepe (btw, I have decided the crepe station is my favourite complimentary venue here on Icon). Then I headed over to Rye and Bean to try a Hibiscus Tea Punch. It is perfect for 3pm in the afternoon. We had a time change last night for St. Kitts tomorrow. 


 
Going to have to return here to try the Big Bobbo. The bartender told me the espresso martini is getting great feedback too. I am not a huge fan of coffee or chocolate based martinis but good to know for anyone who is interested.
