Wonder of the Seas - St Thomas Mid-Day Arrival and St John Self Tour

We were planning to take the self-guided tour of St Johns during our St. Thomas stop in November, but the ship docks much later than the tour departs (based on the description) has any one been to St. Thomas recently with the later arrival and taken the St. John trip? I have called RCL but the staff was not aware of the time adjustment and getting back in time.

We've not made the journey recently but have made the journey many times.  Trunk Bay in St Johns is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  Getting to Red Hook to take the ferry is a bit of a gauntlet round trip.  The ferry runs every hour so it is doable.  There is a ferry from Charlotte Amalie but runs to Cruz Bay and back infrequently so probably isn't a good option.

We understand that there is a ferry to and from St. Johns that travels regularly, but this is a tour being offered by RCL for this sailing. The problem is that it is shown as departing at 10 am. The ship does not arrive in St Thomas until 12 noon. We are wondering if they adjust the departure for the arrival of the ship.

Just to give you heads up. We have learned to never do and excursion by ourselves. We now always go with Royal Caribbean excursions. Its much safer. That just ours opinion.

Everyone should absolutely do whatever makes them comfortable.

We prefer almost nothing but 3rd party excursions these days.
