NC Grateful Dead Dad
I was looking to see what TV channels were on the boats (mainly checking to see if we would have ESPN in Europe). And I keep seeing a channel called "Royal Entertainment". Can someone tell me about this channel. I know many hotels have little programs that run on loops telling you the history of that hotel and/or a long infomercial for that hotel. But there were other channels that seemed as if they would do some of this. Is there any chance this Royal Entertainment channel shows any of the shows on board? It would be great to see a preview of a muscian who is playing, or the commedian. Or do they go as far to show any of the game shows on board- either taped or live? The Channel features short interviews/introductions/information by the Entertainment Director or some entertainment staff member. You may see some behind the scenes rehearsal clips of some of the shows. If you have been to Vegas, it is like the Hotel/Casino's channel featuring clips of the property and ammenities. CrznTxn
They do not stream or record and replay any of the shows or performances. The only recorded shows are the shopping and usually shore excursion shows. The cruise director will records some snippets and these will replay. If you want to really drive your roommate mad, play the safety drill recording over and over. For ESPN, go the the Sports Bar if your ship has one and see if they will tune in to the event you want to see. In the Caribbean we get ESPN but it is the Caribbean version and usually show Cricket or other non-North America events unless there is a big game coming on. NC Grateful Dead Dad
A Caribbean ESPN? Wow. That could be interesting. I figured with a Western Mediterrranean cruise and being 6 hours ahead, the East Coast 6:00pm SportsCenter would be perfect for coming back to the room and going to bed after a little time (honestly, probably a little too much time) at Copper and Kettle. I guess if it's American ESPN, Wednesday Night Baseball will be right around lunchtime. It will be like growing up when you would come home from school and find the Cubs playing on WGN!
