jp1
I've been watching the Maho Beach webcam for the past few months thinking ahead to late-March when I will be there. Sadly, yesterday I was greeted with a beach full of sargassum seaweed. I checked the Sargassum Monitoring website and nothing was noted for Maho Beach. Perhaps the site is no longer being updated? My question is how long do these outbreaks take to clear? Does the government usually do a cleanup? I spotted one person with a small rake trying to clear a spot so he can rent more beach chairs. At the rate he's working it will take months. Of course we'll still be able to spend time plane spotting, but we won't plan to make it a beach day. https://sargassummonitoring.com/ Webcam: http://sunsetsxm.com/plane-info/ USFFrank
