Scatmanjack
Figured most Texas Spring Breakers are trying out Allure of Seas on her First Galveston Spring Break... We are on Adventure visiting Cozumel and Costa Maya with hopefully less chaos...
SJHANKS
Just wondering if they did a formal night and or served lobster one night as part of the included menu. Also any tips you may have as we are doing as similar cruise next month.
Scatmanjack
These were the themes each night: 1: White 2: Dress to Impress (Formal) 3: Tropical 4: 70's 5: Casual Pretty much anything goes as far as clothes in MDR. They will not prohibit you from entering unless you're dripping wet in a swimsuit with no shoes on... Plenty of shorts, t-shirts, and ball caps on Formal night and every other night (on kids and adults...) The do not do FREE lobster on sailings shorter than 7 nights- this was the case even before Pandemic... You can purchase a Cold-Water Lobster tail for ~$15.95 if I remember correctly... Tips: Ice Skating show was great. We did this ship in 12/2021 and the show was still impressive to us despite having seen it. Great music choices and fun costumes Seems like the attendance for trivia and games has increased over the past several years. Arrive early if you want a seat. Breakfast in the Windjammer was the same on both sides, and the breakfast menu options did not change each day aside from one or two of the International/Asian dishes. Hadn't experienced the Avocado Toast stations before. They will custom make you a toast if you do not like the pre-made options. We did do the brunch option in the MDR one morning. It was ok. Some different/unique menu option at the meal but service tended to drag and we had things we wanted to do... We had a drink package that included soda but we never even bothered getting our mugs. Just got soda/drinks from various bars across the ship. The Freestyle machines seemed to be in need of maintenance or had a long line every time we walked by them. Shorts parade on night 1 about 5pm on Promenade. Arrive early to claim a spot to watch or look out your window if you have an interior view... The pickleball sessions while at sea usually end up being a washout as it is too windy on Sports Court. New Terminal was fantastic, suggest the Port of Galveston North Lot- worth the increased $$$ to not have to deal with shuttles. 3 minute walk to your car... Enjoy your cruise.... Scatmanjack
If I remember correctly there were 4 Ice Shows on our sailing. One on night 1, one on night 3, and 2 on day 5. We went on night 3 and there were plenty of seats available 5m prior to showtime... This was our experience in main theater as well... Only had issues with events in Star/Imperial Lounge (Forget the name of it on each ship, Deck 5 Forward Freedom/Voyager Classes), Schooner Bar, Boleros, and the Pub... I really wish they would hold events on Deck 14 in the Night Club during day hours. Plenty of space up there.... Guess they don't want to staff that bar for more hours...
