We did both last year! It takes a good hour to get over to where the falls are so your guide talks about the history of Jamaica while you're on the bus. Once at the falls, it's very busy, but everyone treks up the falls together in groups. You are required to wear water shoes so I suggest bringing your own, otherwise they have there but are much more expensive. Highly recommend the rum punch and patties inside the park at the falls-they were much better than the ones inside the port shops. If you don't bring cash with you, they will take a tab and wait for you to go back to the bus to get money.

The caves were just ok. It was interesting and there were a lot of bats! But this year when we go back we are just doing the falls again

We did the excursion on our last cruise and my whole family loved it.  Dress for the water at the falls, but you may want to bring some clothes to change into or at least a sweatshirt for the caves.  My wife got a little chilly.  My kids still say it is the best excursion we have ever done.
