It depends on how busy kids club is that sailing. It has been granted on a case-by-case basis in the past, but it's up to the staff's discretion. 

To piggyback on Matt's comment - The 5-year-old can either "age-up" to the 6-8 group, or the 6-year-old can "age-down" to the 3-5 group. You can ask AO staff, and if they agree, they can do a "trial run" for one session to test compatibility of the new child to the age group. If it works out, you can continue doing it throughout the cruise (at AO staff's discretion). If not, they should remain in their respective groups.

This has been our experience as well. After the "trial" goes well theyll be allowed the rest of the cruise.
