DocLC
Hi we are sailing explorer of the seas ex Sydney , are the packages worth getting?? Have heard that internet is extremely slow. Any help with this matter is appreciated Royal has significantly increased the onboard speed of the internet in the North American cruises market. While it may not beer as fast elsewhere, it's still faster than what's offered on other ships. If you need it, it's worth getting. However, if you have s lot of port stops or are by land, then there are other options. In the Baltics, for example, I had cellular service during most of the cruise. Note that the speeds are much slower outside of the Caribbean and send to be related to satellite coverage areas. I know in the Baltic, I read reports of there internet being painfully slow, so I'm not sure what it will be like in Sydney, which is why I opted against it on my Baltics cruise and instead relied on cellular data. I am looking forward to trying it on the Allure in January, though. FloatMe
Sarah
I had a VOOM surf package on my recent cruise to the Canaries on Indy. I have to say it generally worked ok - I didn't notice much slowness. I don't have fibre broadband at home, only the standard broadband and speeds seemed as quick as at home DocLC
