Hi, my family and I are cruising on the serenade of the seas from 21st December to 28th. My daughter is petrified of balloons and bangs and I wondered if anyone has knows if there are any balloons etc in the formal dining room or anywhere else during these dates.

Thanks.

Others may know better but I can say iv never seen them in the MDR. Hard to say with Christmas though, it may be worth calling Royal to see. It wouldn't be good if they ever did a balloon drop, there would be nowhere to run.

Best of luck.

I've never seen balloons on Royal except for a ballon drop for New Years. I can't imagine they'd have one for Christmas, but if they did it be pretty easy to avoid as it would be limited to the atrium.

Did a Christmas cruise in 2013 on Brilliance out of Tampa. Lots of Christmas decorations in MDR, Centrum and other passenger areas. Do not remember any balloons and certainly none from the ceiling in the MDR. You should be safe!

New Years Eve is the only time I can think of ever seeing any balloons onboard.

Does anyone know if there are any party poppers or Christmas crackers when dining at Christmas?. We will have such a good time if not! Thanks.

Not that I've ever seen. On New Year's Eve they do pass out party favors, but I haven't heard of this for Christmas. Of course, passenger could bring them, but I wouldn't expect to see any.
