  1. Wait! don't kick me out! My mom and I want to take a late 2020 cruise but we have to get a lot of things in line first and our preferences (room category, embarkation port, ports of call, length of trip, sea day to port day ratio, ship class) mean options get slimmer each month. So, just in case our RCCL options run out before we book, I was hoping you nice people might be able to help us decide on an NCL ship class that will give us a (diet) Royal feel. So far we've only done Freedom and Vision class ship and found we much prefer Freedom class. What we liked: Royal Promenade: we l
  2. Hi all, I don't have any upcoming cruise set yet ( ) but regardless of when I finally book cruise #4, I and my mother will have to fly since we live in Illinois. And it's a struggle! After dealing with conforming to shrinking plane carry-on measurements, checked-bag weight restrictions, transport to and from the airport, hotel costs, food for the night before and hotel to port costs we're often stressed and already pretty monetarily spent before even setting foot on the ship! But I want to take advantage of some of the cost saving tips I keep hearing about (like bringing your own w
  3. I am trying to book my time dining for a party of 7 for a December sailing on Harmony but when i go into the plan all dining menu I can´t select My Time Dining because I have apparently selected early seating, which i don´t recall doing. Has anyone had this problem before and is there anyway to cancel the Early seating?
  4. Hi, my brother Chuck Jacks was a trombonist with Royal Caribbean cruise lines some years ago. He absolutely loved working there and traveling the world while meeting amazing new people. He worked with the jazz bands, big bands, played small intimate gigs in the lounges and also played in the big shows on the stage. He's told me numerous times how much he's cherished the friendships he's made the experiences he's had. I once had the luxury of joining him on a cruise to Alaska and it was great to see Chuck really enjoying his life out there! He's since become a beloved private music instruct
  5. Is there a process for catching up to a cruise at a later port? We (me, wife, 13 year old, and 10 year old) are booked next April on the Symphony with other families, but this week something came up so that only me and the 13 year old can leave on embarkation day (Saturday). Wife and 10 year old could get to the first port (Monday), but would they be allowed on the ship? Has anyone done something like this intentionally? Yes, I realize this is a horrible idea. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible, before rebooking on a different cruise leaving on Sunday. Thank you!
  6. We are visiting Friar's Bay in St. Maarten. Wondering if this was good for snorkeling. My sister and I would like to go at some point but aren't sure if we want to book a 4 hr trip
  7. Hello, and thank you for reading. My parents are traveling to Alaska on the Explorer of the Seas over their 40th Anniversary. This is special not only because it's 40 years, but they have never taken a cruise as a couple and never been to Alaska (or Seattle!). Their three sons have created a photo album book that we would very much like for them to open on the cruise ship during their vacation, however, Royal WILL NOT allow us to ship them anything, and will not assist in getting it on the boat for us. My Ask; I'm looking for someone traveling on this same ship to deliver the album
  8. So my question is, what is actually free in regards to food or anything liquid you consume? Is the tap water on the ship revolting? Should I even purchase the Evian bottled water? What food is actually free? (I'm aware there are specialty dining that are at additional cost) Is the captains dinner, fancy dining room free? I am purchasing the soda package, will i be charged for orange juice or black coffee in the morning during room service or on the main cafe? Sorry to bombard with so many questions, i've only ever cruised on a Carnival ship 9 years ago... And it feels lik
