  1. Any suggestions or Tips for 1st Timer RC cruises to go for lunch on the sea days? Thanks Chris
  2. Cruise date is June 26th out of Port Liberty. I plan on getting there pretty early. I was figuring about 9:30, even though my arrival time is 10:30. I don't want to get caught in traffic and would rather just wait at the Port instead of sitting in traffic getting to the Port. I called the Port and know the parking lot there opens up at 7am, so arriving, as I said at say 915 or so, would that be ok? Thanks Chris
  3. So is there no need to hand the "tips" to the staff?? If you're tipping above the charged amount, u can give that directly to those people, but the rest is handled by RC directly??? I mentioned that dcl gives u the voucher in an envelop to hand the staff, but w/ RC it seems it's done internally. Am I right on that? Thanks Chris
  4. How did u find arriving at Port Liberty....what time did u arrive? Were u parking at the port? How busy was the port? Thanks. We're cruising out of there on June 26th.
  5. All great info, thanks Chris. The diary book, that you book an appt, is a great idea, plus the thoughts that RC holds back certain amount of rooms from their web, is interesting.
  6. Thanks Matt. I'm good w/ the 10 minutes, but how about the wait for people in front of you who are just starting their research with the NextCruise staff?? I'll see if there's a long wait, a few times during the cruise. If the wait is long, I'll just make my reservations at home, the $50 obc isn't really worth losing a lot of time on the ship waiting. Chris
  7. Hey, I forgot to ask.... Is there a way to put my next cruise request on paper, include my name, stateroom # and leave it somewhere for them to do and place back in my stateroom. That way I wouldn't have to wait there to speak w/ a rep. DCL used to have a drop box, where I would fill out their form, drop in the drop box and the next day it would be at my stateroom and I would just call on the ship phone to tell them "I approve" and they would just charge my visa card and then send a copy to my email. DCL just got rid of this approach. Which I complained about, cause now I have to wait inline w/ people who are just beginning to ask questions about a "possible next cruise." It can take a couple of hours while people do their beginning research with a rep, while I've already picked my next cruise, stateroom selection, dates , etc. Time on the ship is crucial and I prefer to do all my research before I go onboard. Does RC offer something like this?? Thanks Chris
  8. Since we've only cruised dcl in the past, I wanted to ask how RC handles the cruise. Some of it sounds familiar and similar to the way dcl handles it. With dcl, in the afternoon of the second to last day of the cruise, dcl puts vouchers in your room which shows your visa card has been charged for the tips. The vouchers include an envelop for each person you are tipping, so later that night you can give the envelops to each worker you're tipping. Is that the way RC handles the tipping procedure??? Thanks Chris ps.............we r going on the Anthem of the Seas at the end of June.
  9. Ok, thanks for that info. So I can book onboard, get the $50 obc for my next cruise and if needed cancel before the cancellation policy kicks in and not lose any funds. Thanks again Chris
  10. Not sure if I'm correct w/ my research: If I book a new cruise onboard the advantage is $50 onboard credit. Does this type of reservation have the same cancellation policy as if i book at home on the computer?? The other advantage of booking onboard is the smaller deposit required. ....I thought I read that booking onboard has no cancellation policy, like u would lose the deposit?? Thanks for any responses.
  11. On formal night, is dress pants and dress shirt enough or do you need a jacket/and or a tie? Thanks Chris
  12. Does RC provide shampoo and soap for the entire trip..? Like will they refill, if they see u are low?? Thanks Chris
  13. What's a good time to get there? We have 10:30 as our arrive time on online check in. To avoid a long line of cars trying to enter the parking garage, what time would u recommend? Thanks Chris
  14. Any tips on Parking at Port Liberty.... getting there, paying, leaving? Thanks Chris
  15. If they give you instant obc, what happens if you cancel the booksed cruise??
  16. We're doing the Canadian Cruise in June on the Anthem of the Seas. I saw a bus tour for about 3 hours touring the Arcadia National Park. It wasn't involved w/ RC. Any suggestions or thoughts on touring Arcadia. Thanks Chris
  17. When you do online check in at the 90 day point, is there a way to make sure you can get an early time, so u can get on the ship early and also park at the Port early? Thanks Chris
  18. Read your tips on parking at Cape Liberty. Very helpful, thanks. Did you carry your parking ticket with you on the cruise, so you could pay before u entered your car on the second level? The pay by cash tip, is great. I'm going to check online the price of a 5 day cruise and have the cash to pay...thanks Chris
  19. If booking the shows opens on the 90 day point, when I reserve, does RC give u an exact seat number, or can you sit any where that's available?? Plus the shows: We Will Rock You, any other show you would recommend I grab right away when reservations opens up? Thanks Chris
  20. Some great tips. On the Anthem, I see it has a jogging trail on one of the top decks, is there another trail sort of covered in one of the lower decks, in case the weather is windy or rainy. (The Disney ships have a waling/jogging trail on deck 4 underneath the safety boats. It's pretty covered and goes sort of inside at the front and rear end of the ship.) I was wondering if the Anthem might have the same type of thing. Thanks again. Chris
  21. After cruising on the Disney ships for 7 times, we've decided to try RC out of Port Liberty. We will be on Anthem of the Seas for the 5 night Canada cruise. Since we have no experience on RC, I have many questions. But I'll start with just a few: 1. We live in NJ and it's easy to get to P Liberty. They have parking at the Port and say no reservations are needed. (I don't think they even take reservations) Is that true, none are needed. 2. Also, I've tried to reserve some of the entertainment activities on the ship and even called RC directly. The rep said it looks like you will need to visit Guest Services onboard to book the reservations. I really don't want to do that. I want to plan this ahead of time. But the rep mentioned that it doesn't look like they are taking reservations online for this cruise??? She mentioned to wait until the 120 day mark, or even the 90 days mark to see if it opens up. However she didn't sound very positive about this. I really don't want to stand inline, for something that should be able to be done way before we go on the cruise. 3. What shows would u suggest I book as soon as possible. 4. We're excited about this cruise because of leaving close to home and also the ports.... Bar Harbor and Halifax. ****Any thing you can mentioned about the ports or even the ship Anthem, any tips as well, would be appreciated. Thanks Chris
