  1. Hey All! So here's the thought/question I have...

My husband & I are going to be on the Harmony on November 10, 2018 for my BDay.  This happens to be the ONLY 8 night cruise that Harmony is scheduled to do. If you look at the other 3 sister ships itineraries they happen to be "altered" as well so I'm thinking this is going to be RCCL's publicity photo shoot cruise. Here are my 2 questions

    1. Was anyone on Oasis or Allure during the last photo shoot at sea? If so did RCCL do anything Special for everyone?

    2. What is the "Experts" opinion of my theory of the above mentioned cruise?

Thanks in advance for your input & answers!

  2. We did a hilltop cabana last year.  I'm not sure if it was 5, but it was higher up (the higher the digit, the higher on the hill it is).

Be aware that the stairs going up the hill are not level or a consistent height.  If you have anybody with mobility issues in your group, I would highly suggest against the hilltop cabanas.  Also, if you're carrying a lot of stuff (we have a toddler, so we have stuff), you will struggle getting up there.  The attendants will help you though.

Definitely quiet up there, but we found it particularly hot even in December.  The fan didn't make much of a dent.  You can walk out to the front and see down to the water.  My dad got great shots of my husband and I swimming with our baby.

The food was ok.  They had lamb when we went.  Honestly, the WJ is better.

Thanks so much for the input!  It's just my husband and I with no mobility issues so we are good there. Also attached is a picture & a map of the Cabanas.  In the picture on the far right is the one I'm looking at...  Is this the one you were in?

  3. There are 2 Concierges on Harmony but I'm sure if you write to 1 of them you will get an answer.  I am doing the same thing in a couple of weeks for my cruise in Feb.

hm_concierge01@rccl.com.  There is an underscore between hm and concierge.  The other address is, unsurprisingly, hm_concierge02@rccl.com

I'm not sure who or what a Guest Services Manager is so I can't help you there but the Concierge is who you need to contact regarding reserving a cabana,  I'm not sure that they will be able to help you this far in advance but if you contact them around 30 days prior to sailing I'm sure they will let you reserve something.  They did this for me in Feb. on Allure for my OTW cabana.  Even if you wait until they contact you (generally around 7 days prior to sailing) you will still be able to get a cabana of your choice but if you want to get way out in front, 30 days before is more than enough time.  Since the cost of the cabanas has gone so high, I don't believe they are in as much demand as they may once have been.

Good luck and happy cruising !

Thanks so much for the information you provided me in both responses! as for who the Guest Srevices Manager is...  I got this from the RCCL Site about Labadee:

The cabanas are available for reservation onboard through the Concierge or Guest Services Manager on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note there is limited availability.

  4. thanks for your input. intermission is inportant at my age especially when I am drinking beer.  :-)

    thanks good info!!

    Wow this should be interesting.

Yeah, if I am going to sit through 2 1/2 hours of a show I would prefer at least OK seats. Of course if the quality is not up there we could leave early anyway.

That would be perfect for us. Thanks for your input.  Does the empty seats at intermission say anything about the quality of the show in your opinion?

No Not at all.  I have seen it in a Theater before as well and both were great productions.  I would say the only real difference in my opinion would be that I believe there are more extras in the Theater production then on the cruise.

  5. Even the pillow cases?  I would never have considered those ..... the paper/plastic products?  Yes, but the pillow cases, as not sure on those.

As seen in the link below...  The Pillow Cases and Bed Throw are included in the package so there would be no reason not to take them unless you don't collect such things.

  6. Okay, I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm not an alcoholic - I'm traveling on LOTS in August with my 7 y.o. daughter and have no intention of getting the drink package or really even drinking if I have to pay for it (going to take my 2 allotted bottles of wine though  :D ).

Anyway, I was looking through some old cruise compasses and saw where there were events such as Champagne meet and greet, or tequila tasting etc. Are those for certain RCCL members only (e.g. Diamond Plus) or do they cost additional? I'm not planning on spending money for drinks but I'm not opposed to grabbing a free glass of something while on-board if it's being offered  So.....are there opportunities for having a little drink without it costing?

    Thanks  :)

While I let everyone else throw their opinions (Some Very Wrong!!) I'll tell you the lowdown!

In the most Recent Cruise Compass Posted on the sight  Here are the FREE Tastings that you are asking about...  Not what the others are talking about!

Day 2 - Liberty Beer Tasting

Day 4 - Free Tortuga Rum & Coke and Liquor Tasting Event.

    Day 6 - Makeovers & Mimosas

Day 6 - Free Liquor Tasting Event

Those are the ones I could find, but I may have missed a few.  As some of the others have said there is typically Champagne for the art auction.  It is listed as Champagne Art Auction, however it was not listed in the Cruise Compass.  If you read them completely I'm sure you may find more or different ones then those I have listed for you.

  7. Hello everyone

Heading to my fist mega ship.....Oasis at the end of September.  We just ordered our theater tickets for the shows. Cats is showing and it says the doors open 45 minutes prior to show.  My questions is how crowded does it get. Getting there 45 minutes before and relaxing with a drink sounds fine to us, but is the theater going to be mobbed and do we need to be there an hour before they open the doors to get decent seats?  Were not looking for  orchestra center kind of seats but we don't want to be way off on the sidelines or in the mezzanine if we can help it. .

What do you guys recommend showing up prior to show time to get decent seats?

I was also shocked the play is 2 hours and 30 minutes. They must be doing the entire play.....I was thinking it would just be some of the numbers and last about a hour like most of the cruise shows. ..I am hoping it good.  We remember Cats from a long time ago in Manhattan and a revival is starting up soon there also. .

    thanks for your help everyone.

    Rich

We were on Oasis in November and saw the first Full production of Cats then.  We only came about 15 minutes before curtain and were able to sit L of Center about 6-8 Rows back.  After the intermission we were about to move Center Stage on the isle 5 rows back which is my favorite seats.  Needless to say the theater was not packed and people do leave do leave during intermission & you can always change seats then.
