  1. It's funny - I live in NJ which is pretty much the pizza capital of the US (there are literally 10 local pizza joints within 5 miles of my house), yet I actually don't mind Sorrentos! I know.... let the stoning commence haha.
  2. My wife and I, along with her sister and sister's husband will be on the Anthem sailing October 27th 2018. Should be fun to do a Halloween cruise! I'm wondering if many people wear costumes... hmmm.
  3. As a self-proclaimed beer snob, I'm just excited to see Royal including more venues that have a decent beer selection. This place looks like it'd be my goto bar if I'm ever on the Symphony. I'm on the Anthem coming up this October and I'm quite saddened by the removal of Michael's Genuine Pub. I'd never been on the Anthem, and was really looking forward to that place! Here's hoping they keep up with offering a decent beer selection once the change in venue happens.
  4. Oh man, my goto for the first cruise drink is definitely something rummy. I'd go with either a Mai Tai, Pain Killer or a Pina Colada made with Meyers Dark rum - yummm. Or just all three in rapid succession at the Schooner Bar! Ooo or a nice dark and stormy with Kraken rather than the Goslings (sacrilege, I know). If you can't tell, Royal loses lots of money on the deluxe drink package with me :P Geez, come on October!!
  5. Thanks for the tip, but no such luck here - Still $244. Maybe October is still a bit far out for them to be putting it on sale yet. Good find though!!
  6. Thanks, I think I will go ahead and book. It does look like an awesome way for a small group to relax! Can't wait to be on the beach with a Coco Loco in hand - Cheers!
  7. Hey Everyone! My Wife, Sister in law, and Brother in law will be on the Anthem of the Seas departing October 27th this year. This will be our fourth cruise on Royal, but first time to Cococay. I had been looking at the Beach Bungalow options at Cococay, of which they had two offerings - the deluxe and the regular. I think the only difference was that with the deluxe, you were given a menu to order from and the food is brought back to you. That deluxe option seems to have dissapeared as of now. Does that mean that the Deluxe options are sold out? If the only difference truly is the delivered food, why couldn't that be offered in the regular beach bungalows that are still available? I think I'll go ahead and book the regular bungalow for now, and if the deluxe shows back up later, I'll cancel and book that. Either way, do any of you have any experience with these? Thanks, Phill
  8. I booked my trip on Oasis next week through Royal's website during a promotion where they were offering $125 per person OBC. Around 20 days out from sail date, my OBC became available to spend on the cruise planner. I posted about this recently, and not many people have seen this happen yet. It only appears to be those who receive OBC directly from booking on Royal rather than through a travel agent. So if you are offered OBC during a booking through Royal, check around 20 days out from your sail date to see if your credit is available. Otherwise, you'll need to pay for the dining package with a card.
  9. Matt - I booked directly with Royal when they had a $125 per person OBC offer. That's got to be the reason I'm seeing it and others that receive the credit through a TA are not.
  10. Hi guys - I'm 22 days out from my cruise on Oasis, (woohoo!) and I logged into cruise planner to see that my onboard credit is available now to use for purchases (screenshot attached) ! I haven't seen this on previous cruises - is this a new feature, or have i just been missing it previously? Either way, it's quite handy to have!
  11. Great! Thanks for the tip! We've done Embassy in Orlando a few times and love it. Good to know this one is so close and convenient! I think their breakfast buffet is pretty killer, definitely worth a bit of an upcharge.
  12. Hi guys, The wife and I are going to be cruising on the Oasis this year, leaving October 1st. We're in NJ and have only cruised out of either Bayonne or Manhattan, so this will be our first cruise where we've flown in to port. I'm looking to book the flight/hotel pretty soon, and was wondering what y'all thought of some of the hotels around the area? Is there any partiuclar one that stands out as having good transportation services, or should I just stick with an Uber from airport -> hotel -> port? Looking forward to your suggestions! Thanks, Phill
