  1. I completely agree about the 3 Alaskan ports and the hope for decent weather! We're thrilled to explore Alaska for the first time, while celebrating my husband's birthday amidst its stunning scenery! Plus, we're excited for the 8-night cruise overall, which feels like a bonus compared to the usual 7-night Alaska cruises. We also called Royal Caribbean last night to inquire about the possibility of disembarking for a bit in Vancouver in the evening on Day 1, a few hours after boarding. The representative informed us that this won't be possible due to safety concerns. Once we board the ship, we'll need to remain on board.
  2. We booked the White Pass Scenic Railway in Skagway a while ago, and that one hasn't been affected!
  3. @LLW2683 They replaced Sitka with Victoria, BC. At least we'll be in Victoria for a full 12 hours though (from 8 AM - 8 PM). The itinerary itself also got slightly reshuffled, and we're now spending a few hours less in Ketchikan (the original itinerary had us there from 8 AM - 6 PM). Here's a screenshot of the updated itinerary from Royal's email: Also, for more context the beginning of the email mentioned that this itinerary change is due to "tidal window restrictions in Vancouver, BC".
  4. It's still a wonderful itinerary though since it has a lot of time in port, and it's cool to start in Vancouver and end in Seattle! But skipping Sitka is still too unfortunate.
  5. This will be my husband and I's first Alaska cruise!! Only 29 more days to go! Except the itinerary change that was just sent out a few hours ago has been a slight disappointment as we're no longer sailing to Sitka.
  6. I first fell in love with cruising as a child, and have rediscovered my passion for it in 2022 while sailing on Symphony with my husband. Both of us have also sailed on Wonder in January 2023, and this year the rest of my family has finally been convinced to go on a cruise with us - as long as I pick out the itinerary and select the ship. I'm between the 8 night Eastern Caribbean + Perfect Day itinerary on Oasis in mid-November, and the 7 night Eastern Caribbean + Perfect Day itinerary on Wonder at the end of October. Somehow the Wonder cruise is nearly $500 cheaper than Oasis for an oceanview balcony stateroom, midship on deck 8 (those of us that have sailed on Oasis before absolutely love Central Park). Only half of our group has been on Oasis class ships in the past, and I'd love to share the magic of Oasis with my dad and grandma. I'm the only one in the group that has sailed on both of them already, but I was last on Oasis in 2014, so it's hard to compare it to Wonder as that was nearly a decade ago and was before its amplification! Please let me know if you have any advice on whether Oasis or Wonder would be better for an active, multigenerational family that loves cruising, but in which only some of us have been on Oasis-class ships. We also don't have children, so this is a group consisting of adults in their 30s/mid 50s/mid 70s. Thank you so much in advance!!
